I am a parent of two first graders at Jim Pearson. I have had totally different experiences with each child. One child is exceeding 1st grade requirements and one is about average. I have been lucky to get to experience two different teachers this year. One experience has been great the other not so great. One of my children is ADD and has struggled. The teacher told me that she didn't feel 'she was the best teacher for' my child. There are programs for children that are exceeding expectations and those that are not, which is wonderful. These programs are free. This school is a wonderful environment for children to learn. I would recommend this school to anyone. As with any school, just be sure that you know your child's rights and be willing to stand up for them if the need arises.

JPS is excellent. As a mother,I was terrified for my daughter to start kindergarten this year. JPS and its staff made the transition nothing less than wonderful. We have been truly blessed with having not only a superb teacher, but an awesome principal and terrific assistant principal. Dr.Bice, Superintendent of AC schools, is very giving and concerned. The lunches are great. The exercise time, computer access, and music classes are extra bonuses. The children are exposed to so many learning tools and fabulous art ideas. My family and I are thrilled to be a part of a caring community. JPS benefits from learning activities within the school and outside of class with JPS family nights. The school is very family focused and desires to have parental involvement. You couldn't ask for a better elementary school to get an excellent and uplifting start in your child's education.

Oops! We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Public and charter school test scores for most states come from the state Department of Education. The most common reasons we might not have this data are either that not enough students took the test or that the school was recently opened, and its scores have not yet been reported.
