Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I am very unimpressed with this school. We just moved to Anniston over the summer from another state, and I wish we never did. The principal has let me know that paddling the kids or me leaving work to pick my son up when he has a problem is the only means of disciplinary action they have there. She said this was b/c I left her no choice, but to handle things this way b/c I will not allow her to paddle my child. I have also experienced that when I send notes to the teacher about concerns I have, I get no response back. I have let her know several times that my son has been in the gifted program since 2nd grade and that I'm afraid he isn't being pushed enough in the classroom. Nothing still has been done about this. I do feel that this school uses paddling as a band-aid. I don't feel that they are trying to find real solutions to the problems that are happening in the classrooms. There is a major lack of communication between teachers and parents! I will be meeting with the Anniston City Schools Superintendent about the experiences that I have had since starting school at Constantine Elementary.

I have been teaching at Constantine Elementary for 5 years now, and love it. The students are wonderful, the parents are great and the community as a whole really works well together. I feel very blessed to be working with a great group of teachers who really care about the students' education and their success in and out of the classroom.

I have had just the opposite of feelings. I found the teachers to be friendly, knowledgeable, and more than willing to work together to educate my child. I am concerned about the safety comment. I am aware the neighborhood has its problems, but the school seemed more like a sanctuary of safety to me.

This school is in need of repairs. Also teachers need to communicate with parents more often. I dont feel like the children in this school are safe. This school needs someone to step in and review all the problems that are there on a daily basics.
