If you are looking for a quality Christian environment for your children, please look elsewhere.

When I originally moved to Alabama I was looking for a great Christian school to enroll my son in, thats when I ran across Cornerstone. Let me just say that for a Christian school they judge and they judge hard. My child was in Kindergaten and he knew how to read better than most 2nd graders. My child was very bored at this school. He has the hyper tendencies of the average 5 year old and it was a major problem for them because he did not walk in a straight line or sit up straigt. They treat these kids as if they are in the military. Sometimes you have to let kids explore and this is not accepting of that at all.

I have two young children at Cornerstone and have been impressed by the great teachers and curriculum. My children are excited to go to school, love learning, and are making great progress.

My parent works at this school. You can see the positive impact the teachers have on the children. They are really making a difference in the world.

I have a friend who teaches there; I have visted the school and classes, met the Principal (fine woman) and was most impressed with the work with the most needy students in the area. With this recession upon us, Cornestone school provides ethical, intellectual and moral guidance many of the children do not get at home. It is a most worthy cause; the prize money would mean the world to children in learning materials. My fingers are crossed that Cornerstone wins!

Cornerstone is a great school i love to go there the teachers are great & so is the administration. You go on field trips & if you dont get the work the teachers will be sure to help you. Now we have after school activities also this year we are moving to a new school which is way bigger and I love that. We will also have some new teachers more sports & more extra curilium classes.

Cornerstone is a nice and wonder school. The only thing is that they all need to be on the same page. They need to be consist with teacher and principal. Other than that I love the school. My child has had the A B Honor Roll since she started in the K3 program. Now she is in the 3rd grade. Overall I feel they are doing a wonder job with my child.

Cornrstone was a good school at one time, but now they have went downhill finance wise and also socially wise. The school does not have many extra curricular activities for us to get involved in besides student government association. The school has also a lot of other problems that i dont want to specify.

This is my daughter's first year at Cornerstone and I love her teacher, Mrs. Ryan and the principal, Mrs. Fields. I have found that a school is what you make it. My daughter is in kindergarten and can read, count by 5's and 10's, tell time, and do a lot of things that are above her grade level. If you think that this school is anywhere near the same level as Birmingham Public Schools you are kidding yourself. I am confident that when I drop her off at school she will be safe and have a eventful day. I think a lot of parents do not realize the quality of education that this school provides along with learning about christian beliefs at an affordable price. The school provides students the chance of not only learning christian values but living them through community service projects. Proud parent, Denise Randall

My child has attended CSA since kindergarten and I must say these last few years they have went downhill dramatically. They started making progress with the new principal last year but not only did they get rid of her, they got rid of many, many good teachers. I have never seen that much of a turnover with teachers and principals anywhere.

My daughter had a great teacher and the first year principal had great vision, but the school needs much improvement; academically and socially.

This school at one time was great, however today its a waste, your child may as well go to public school. The afterschool program is a babysitting service, the principal talks too much, the teachers have no clue of wha to do.

I have two daughters that have been in attendnance at Cornerstone Schools of Alabama for 8 years. Words can not simply express how much of a blessing to have a school that is biblical based. It is truly an 'in-thing' to speak about the glorious works of God. The staff is a great example of excellence and order. Cornerstone Schools of Alabama has a genuine concern for the spiritual welfare of the students and their academic education. Once your child is in the CSA family, they will never want to leave!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
