Westminster is a covenant community of believers and their children. Westminster is a partnership between educators and parents. Westminster is a Christian world-view classical school that delivers on it's promises. We couldn't be more pleased with the level of education that our children are receiving at Westminster.

We are middle class family. All four of our children (all of average intelligence) have been at WSOM since kindergarten and we could not be more pleased. We consider the tuition paid to Westminster to be a better investment than what we will pay for college. The classical curriculum that Westminster utilizes teaches our children to be thinkers and equips them to analyze the logic of any argument while intertwining the gospel in every topic of study - active faith, agile mind. Beyond academics, our children are encouraged to appreciate beauty, seek truth and pursue excellence in all aspects of their lives. To us, Westminster is a unique Christian community in which social/financial status is de-emphasized and the worth of each individual and the pursuit of her/his calling in the service of God is fostered. Faith, academics, athletics, fill in the blank... please take the time to investigate Westminster for yourself, there is a tangible difference from other private or public schools at Westminster that has tremendously blessed our family.

We have been at Westminster for 2 years now. We switched from a public elementary school to Westminster after hearing so many wonderful things about the school from a multitude of different sources. Once you take a tour of Westminster, you will quickly realize what is missing in public school: Christ. Everything that Westminster strives to achieve is done for the glory of God, and it shows. Even discipline is done with a focus on the Lord. Each child that walks through the doors of the school knows they are loved and is learning to find their identity in Christ. I cannot say enough good things about this school, but to really understand you have to see it for yourself!

My kids have been at Westminster for seven years and I have been pleased with every aspect of their education. The teachers and administrators all genuinely love the kids and show Christ's love to them daily. The Gospel is woven into every subject and the kids are continually pointed to Christ. While this school is very challenging academically, it is not only for the gifted. The teachers care about the students' learning and go out of their way to make sure that ALL the students have the tools they need to be successful. One of the best things about Westminster is that our students are not just going to school to learn how to regurgitate facts, but are actually learning how to think and why those facts are true. Westminster is the best learning environment for raising up our future leaders.

When we moved back to Birmingham four years ago and took a tour of Westminster, I knew this was where our family needed to be. Our three kids are challenged by this rich curriculum, yet are loved and encouraged by the amazing teachers and staff at this school. We enjoy the shorter school day and being able to have relationships to partner with their teachers in their education. Every aspect of their education is intended to point them to Christ and His love for them. We are so thankful for the families that we have been able to walk alongside as we raise our children, and they are such a blessing to us. It is a privilege to be a part of this wonderful community!

Westminster has been a tremendous blessing to our children and our family. We believe that educating our children is a God-given responsibility and we are so fortunate to have Westminster as our partner. Westminster is a covenant school that has created a community of parents, teachers, and students that value both the academic and spiritual life of each child. Westminster's goal is to educate children so that they be fully equipped to engage our broken world. Our family is honored to be a part of the journey.

We took a tour of Westminster, and we knew immediately that this is where we desired our boys to attend. We have been at Westminster for over 8 years now and could not be more pleased!!! It has been a joy and blessing to experience Westminster come alongside us in our pursuit to love and train our three boys. Each of our sons are unique in their learning and in their gifts, and the amazing teachers and staff at Westminster have taught and shepherded their hearts beautifully. Every time I walk into the school in the morning and watch our precious Lower School principal hug and call each child by name (and their siblings and parents), I am reminded that this is a unique environment- full of grace and truth. Our oldest son is now in the Upper School, and he has thrived under the teaching from the Upper School teachers and Head Master. We feel humbled and blessed to be at this school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
