Erwin Elementary School has a wonderful staff and can be a GREAT place with increased and improved parental involvement. The assistant principal has brought a lot of positive things to the school. She works tirelessly to create opportunities for students to be involved in extracurricular activities. There are disciplinary issues, but I feel as though they are addressed fairly. If some of these parents would tell their students not to fight, Erwin would be a better place! My child is in the Beta Club, which is an honor society for academically bright students. The sponsors of the club work REALLY hard with the students and expose them to a lot of community activities and charitable work. My child is also on the student council and is a part of the gifted program. I am VERY pleased with the opportunities he has at Erwin.

Erwin Elementary School has overcome countless obstacles and continues to move towards improvement. The teachers and students are regaining a sense of school proud with the recent achievement of meeting AYP. This confidence can spiral upward with the support of parents and the community. I am a parent of two children who currently attends Erwin, one on the elementary level and the other one on the high school level. With over 5 years of experience interacting with this school, I can honestly say I have been pleased with the results of my children s academic progress. There are many teachers there who care about the success of the students. The achievement of a school is co-depending upon the support of the parents. With the assistance of the parents contributing their time, cooperation and resources, Erwin will have no barriers to hinder them from becoming a 5 Star school.

Hate this scool. Their is not teacher parent communication. The teacher don't have that special care for the students that they need at school. The teachers don't give the kids that extra push they need at scool. They just don't care if they do their work or not !

With the school's principal and handful of teachers along with help from the community there is hope for this school. The community of Centerpoint is doing everything to better itself and is on the way to recovery from a down period of time just as most communities go through. All communities yes all communities go through a down period even those who think they are 'untouchable'.

I've never seen a school run so badly... the one redeeming quality is the principle and possible a very small handful of teachers, if only it were better funded and more reviews of the teachers
