Excellent school, faculty, and staff! The principal knows every child and their parents by name. Rigorous curriculum. Not for students whose parents are not involved or willing to help their child at home. Hands on math, science, and computer labs with speciality teachers in each. Wonderful, caring teachers!

My son attended this school last year. He was in the fourth grade. His Teacher used fear, intimidation and humiliation as a teaching method and the Principal backed her 100%. Actual email: From teacher third week of school "Yesterday I checked for the last two weeks and this week s words.****had completed nothing. He told me that he didn t know how to use a dictionary so he chose not to do any of them. He didn t ask for help at any time. So far **** is 15 words behind". My Response : "when **** told you he didn t know how to use a dictionary (to complete his wall words assignment) did you teach him how to use it?" Teacher Response: "**** has not asked me for help using the dictionary yet." I couldn't believe her response. I taught my son how to use a dictionary that night. She gave him 0's for the first 15 words. Taken from the teachers custom page on the schools web site: "Every Monday I will give the students 10 minutes to fill in tests, homework, vocabulary words and spelling words for the week. If a student does not properly fill in their planner it will begin to affect their performance in class." His final grades ..2C's, 3B's he wasn't "invited" back next year.

My child is excels at Chickasaw but he hates going. This is a kid who should love school. He has high As in every subject and has excellent behavior, but the school is SO strict, even on the little kids, that there is no time for anything fun to ever happen. They do not make learning fun. Everything there is a chore for the kids. The kids are not allowed to talk or laugh. They get in trouble for even turning around in their chair. My child comes home feel dejected instead of excited. There is a problem here that needs to be addressed!

Chickasaw Magnet is awesome!! The principal is a great leader and the teachers are the best in the system! We have been here 4 years and my child has excelled in every area!

Wonderful teachers, science, math, and reading labs are outstanding. This school gives our children a chance to succeed. The principal is an inspirational leader, not just a principal. She motivates staff, students, and parents to get involved. Outstanding!!!

Awesome! this school is great and my children have soared here! the principal is great and so are the teachers. I love the parental involvement! academically, it is at the top in our county! I wouldn't trade our 3 years of experience at this school for any private school!

Wonderful School! The continuously evolving 'standardized testing' tools are such a source of stress for both teachers and students. The Chickasaw faculty has managed to teach effectively and creatively despite having to make changes based on these standardized goals. We seriously considered going the private school route initially, but are very happy with our decision after two full school years!
