This *public* school, once a year, has mandatory assembly during which a man comes in and preaches christianity, accompanied by a christian band. This is wholly inappropriate conduct for a public school. Many of the students who are not christian find this assembly to not only be a horrendous waste of time, but extremely offensive to their personal beliefs. Lets try and keep religion out of our public schools please, or this totally illegal activity will be prosecuted as such.

Demopolis High School is an exceptional school in most aspects. It has great teachers, and good principal to head the school. Although this school is good in the education department, it does have its flaws. Things like only having four minutes to get from class to class, the hallways being so crowded inbetween our classes, which often makes it harder to get to class on time, and lastly only certain curricular levels having to take a foreign language and not everyone else. This school is, even though flawed, a great high school to graduate from and has many great extracurricular activities to take part in, such as: softball, football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, FCCLA, DECA, FCA, science olympiads, the math team, and drama club. This wide selection is available for most students who can maintain at least a C average and are able to commit to such activities.

I've had children and grandchildren there. There is always room for improvement anywhere, but, I feel it is the best school system in the area.

DHS is, for the most part, a good school. We have a fabulous drama department, headed by Mrs. White. Our new principal, Dr. Espy is great! He is very good for our school. We have great sports teams, thanks to our coaches. I would have to say the only negative thing about our school would be the crowding. So many students are transferring to our school, it's really hard to get around, like when changing classes. It can cause for a tardy or two.

Excellent school. Mr. Roberts is an outstanding Principal and Mr. Sprinkle has a reputation as a science teacher much like Coach Bryant had as a football coach!
