Sparta Academy has made parent involvement too much a reliance, so much so that some "volunteering" is mandatory. Did they think that some parants don't have time for this because they are too busy paying the huge Sparta bills for their kids. In whole, Sparta Academy has the syphoning effect on the Evergreen community of taking the the overwhelming majority of one race of kids (99% to 1%) and leaving the Evergreen schools (that the parents also pay for), drained of a good and diverse base of students to mentor. The parents should really re-think before sending their kids to Sparta where the kids are taught that the world was made in 7 days, dinosaurs never existed and all people came from Adam and Eve, even though this has been disproven by DNA, it's a fact! Think about it, you are paying for 2 schools by sending them to Sparta, and for what?
Sparts Academy of Nickel & Diming!! The Parents are so naive who fall for the nickel and dime tacktics of Sparta. Look at these actual FEES: Sparta entrance fee: $1,000.00 Monthly Fee: $320.00 Class fee : $220.00 Building Fee: $200.00 Activity Fee: $200.00 Family Fee: $320 (Applies even if you only have 1 child). ...Plus the parants must work for the Sparta school 4 days a semester for free or their will be an additional fine of $800 !!! NICKEL & DIME ALERT !!!
I really like Sparta I like the academics and the sports we have a great school here in Sparta
Sparta is an okay school academically but is not very racially diverse and does not take any measures to remedy the situation. The teachers are wonderful, though.
Sparta Academy offers great academic opportunities, but the way things are handled here (administration) aren't very fair. I wouldn't recommend sending my kids to this school for a few simple reasons. The rules are not applied equally to all students.
The families at Sparta are very close. For the most part everyone gets along great! I would definitely recommend this school to a family looking for a school where the entire family can be involved. We have a great math team. Many sports are offered i.e. basketball, baseball, softball, football, track, cheerleading, and weightlifting.Parents are very involved in the extracurricular activities. There is no band here, but we do offer drama/choral. Class sizes are great, no student will be pushed to the side for lack of time.
