My child is in the daycare program at Open Door and seems to be happy. I believe his teacher does the best job she can do; however, they definately need more teachers per class. In the Toddler-2 class, their can be up to 14 kids (2 and 3yr. olds) for one teacher. Many times, we have gotten home things that do not belong to my child or do not get back things we send to class. I believe the teacher does a great job, but may be overloaded with all those kids. The price of daycare is very cheap, so I guess 'you do get what you pay for'.

I completely agree with the other review. I am pleased with some aspects of Open Door and very concerned with others. My child is in 5k and loves her teacher this year (the third teacher this year!) Teacher turnover is a big problem as is the number of fundraisers each year. The principal is very harsh and definitely has a 'can't be pleased attitude'. This is probably the reason for the high teacher turnover. While I have been pleased with my child's education and social development so far, I will be glad that she will be old enough for public school this fall.

My children have attended Open Door Christian School and Day Care for several years now. As with any school, there are some things that I feel could be improved upon, but overall, I am pretty satisfied. My children receive a high quality Christian eduacation. My first grader enjoys reading Fortune magazine and knows her multiplication tables! Children are taught to be loving and respectful. The school enforces their discipline policy. Improvements are needed in extra-curricular activities, teacher turn over, quantity of fundraisers, and the principal. It is a small school, so traditional sports are not really an option, but it would be nice to have dance or band. 6+ fundraisers each year. Principal has a 'can't be pleased' attitude. There are a few teachers who have stayed for several years and they are wonderful!
