Wills Valley Elementary School

My straight-A child attended WVES K-2 and had a good experience there. The school building is modern and beautiful and the teachers are highly educated. The Principal, Ms. Jones, is outstanding! My only complaint is the large population of non-English speaking students. They seem to outnumber everyone else there. Classes are coordinated around their needs (so that they will pass standardized tests) and with that the English-speaking students lack any real challenge. This causes a social challenge for the children as well because there is a huge language and culture barrier. Overall, I rate it B at best.

I am a former teacher at WIlls Valley and a parent of a former WVES student (K-3). This was one of the most beautiful, innovatively designed facilities I have ever or will ever have the opportunity in which to teach. I loved my experiences there. Having the chance to work under Mrs. Crow and Mr. Horton was an honor. I still keep up on the growth and progress of this school. I learned so much from their speech therapist, Kelly Williamson and many other teachers. My child truly loved every day that she spent there. Her teachers, Mrs. Jana Jordan, Mrs. Baxley, Mrs. Culver, and Mrs. Casey still hold special places in our hearts. The school was safe and child focused. I am proud to have this school listed on my resume as an educator. More importantly, I am proud of what my child gained academically and developmentally while there.

I love Wills Valley Elementary, they have wonderful teachers, and other staff. They keep us informed about anything coming up. It is a safe school for our children.

Wills Valley is an excellent place to work. The teachers focus on student achievement and community involvement. With our new technology updates, including smart boards in every classroom, we are truly are 21st century school.
