Coosa is a amazing christian enviroment. It teaches values and respect for yourslef and also others. I had my little girl there for several years but she decided it was time for her to move on and experience other places. I relly hated her decision i really love this school may god be with you all=)

Coosa Christian is truly a blessing to my family. My children have flourished since they started attending. They are having fun while they get a GREAT education through a biblical world view. The Administrator that left didn't go anywhere. He retired after 26 years of dedicated service and is now serving as president of the school board.

I tried to post a review a few days ago about several issues at Coosa Christian. I'm so ashamed that I have placed my children in a school that has teachers coming and going. Some teachers/coaches that seem to yell at the children stay and the great ones seem to be going. I would like to know the reason why the turn over rate is so high. It seems that we are just interested in money and not the knowledge of learning in the classrooms. Why is it also that certain admin. is leaving at 26 yrs of service? Ones mind would wonder after all look at who all has already left in the last 3 yrs. Our children need familiar faces, stable classrooms. Should a meeting not be called to address issues, maybe a open floor would be easier for a lot of people.

I have 3 children at Coosa, my oldest has been there for many years and I would not want my children in any other school. The teachers are great, the curriculum is great, and the Godly atmosphere most of all. Fundraisers, lunch menus, recognition, all those things that have been mentioned as a problem are not going to decide if your child spends eternity in heaven or hell. But God's word that your child is taught at Coosa, will certainly help. And that's what is most important to me. Just church on Sun. and Wed. is not enough of God's teachings in the society that we live in today. I thank God for Coosa.

I am a parent of two children that attend Coosa Christian School. I want to say THANK GOD for Coosa. I have read several of the reviews on here and I am not quite sure how anyone could be disappointed in this school. My children are receiving not only an outstanding education but, they are being taught bible daily. The curriculum is biblically based. I know that in public school they teach to test. Obviously it is very inportant that our children know how to take tests...but how sad that he was having to be quiet in the halls, no talking at lunch, no development of social skills. I am so glad that at Coosa we can learn and enjoy childhood. I don't attend Crosspoint & I have never been made to feel different b/c of it. Remember, Coosa is not state funded. So, my hats off to Coosa Teachers!

My children are at Coosa now and I know the high school teachers and elementary school teachers personally and I know that their purpose for teaching at Coosa is to serve God in the live's of their students. And in this, they offer up their very best, which is excellent in our opinion. Just look at the test scores as well as the high percentage of students who go on to college(and graduate). Our family has only had positive experiences at Coosa. We have a 10th grader who is now being groomed for college by our wonderful guidance counselor, Mr. Davis! As for fund raisers, we are not government funded, we are a private school. If we want nice facilities and any extras, we must pay for them ourselves! Thank God For Coosa Christian School!

I have two sons that graduated from CCS. My oldest son was Valedictorian of his class and has gone on to get his Masters Degree without any problems. My younger son is finishing next year with his BS. My daughter-in-law teaches at CCS now. As with any school there is always room for improvements but overall the education, faculty and sports, etc is great. I thank God everyday for Brother Phillip Ellen and his dream 35 years ago. My 3 grandchildren now attend CCS & I believe the quality of education with the Beka Curriculum is the right way to teach.

My child attended Coosa Christian and the peers were good kids but the administration was focused so much on the perception of what others thought rather than your child's learning. No guidance counselor for college. The principle does it all! This can lend to a narrow view. The awards and discipline were very one-sided.Who went to church with who instead of who deserved the award or who deserved discipline. We got out also!

I am very grateful my daughter attends Coosa. It has been a positive experience. She has been offered after school help when she has been having a problem with a subject. In the past month, 2 students in her class who have been saved. That is far more important than what is served for lunch and what funraisers are offering. My husband and I consider our family very blessed to have a child to attend this school. I only wish we had lived closer 6 years ago when she started public school.

I have been disappointed in the entire school, especially the curriculum. Teachers are inexperienced, and the staff moves to different grades from year-to-year; no consistency or organization. In the two years my child has been there, at least 75% of school functions, awards or recognition of student performance, the main topic is how to raise money for the school. Very little emphasis is on praising children for doing well or encouraging them to do better. As of this year, I haven't received any newsletters awarding children for grades, but I have read many rewarding children for who sells the most 'whatever', including 'pizza party in a limo'. Pizza, hotdogs, chicken fingers, potato chips rule the lunch menu. I am online trying to gather info on schools so that I won't have to watch my very intelligent child's grades continue to fall.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
