This school never lets me take any of the classes that I want. I need classes like Calculus and higher maths and sciences, but they don't even offer it here. If I want to take any kind of advanded class, I have to go take it via ACESS.

I always liked this school. The class size was small, the teachers are always there to help, and you couldn't ask for better coaches. Mrs.Bogle, Coach Morris and Coach Lamb are making the programs better and are going to the playoff games nearly every year!

well I am a student at Gaston! and things have changed over the years! we now have great teachers here and the sports are excelling. We are in a brand new school with a great new principal! things are good here! and I couldn't imagine going any where else!

I went to this school. Most all the teachers are great. I have ran into maybe one or two teachers that I refuse to let my children have. The education is extremely good. My husband and I moved out here because I didn't want my children to go any where else.

The education at this school rates a 1 at this school. If you did not play sports or if you were not a teachers pet this school could care a less about whether you pass or fail. This is not! a good school for your children.

I graduated from Gaston myself and really enjoyed attending the school. When I graduated from GHS I received scholarships to several schools in part due to the assistance of the guidance counselor there. I would recommend Gaston to anyone who enjoys a small town atmosphere and tight knit community.

I graduated from this school in 2001 and really enjoyed the atmosphere. It is a small school, but sometimes that's better. The education level is still high and students enjoy a small class size with more attention from teachers and the ability to bond better with their class mates, as well as members of other grades. I am now also a parent and wouldn't dream of sending my child to any other school.

About the tests


In 2011-2012 Alabama used the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AHSGE) to test high school students in reading, math, language, biology and social studies. High school students must pass the AHSGE in order to graduate. The AHSGE is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Alabama. The goal is for all students to pass the test.

The different student groups are identified by the Alabama Department of Education. If there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group, the state doesn't report data for that group.
