Well, this will be my daughters 3rd and final year at G.B. Middle. She had a rough start at first with 6th grade and everything being being so new, although the small family like environment of this school and the caring nature of the teachers put her at ease pretty quickly. We will really miss this place. It is more like home than just a school. Mr. Whitney treats the kids like they are his own and they respect him for that. There are so many things for your child to be involved in, no matter their interest. There will always be discipline issues at school, but this one has very few. I guess I would say we were Blessed to have been able to attend " the absolute best middle school in Mobile county".

this is a fabulous school. at first i questioned the thought of whether to send my daughter there or not. i let her go there for a while to see how everything worked out. well she loved it and so did i . there are great and helpful teachers. they recognize the students and reward them with a movie and pop corn! my daughter said that Grand Bay is extremely fun and that she likes going to school. also, mr.whitney cares alot for the students and sets high goals for them. he is a great principal.

overall this school is one of the best middle schools i have been to in a while, there are not nearly as much bullies i have seem to come across, and the staff provide a safe overall wellbeing there. The p.e. teachers are great and make it fun its not recess. This school is safe and a good palce to send your child.

I have a son here and things don't seem as bad as they were a couple of years ago. Mr. Whitney seems to be changing things here. Sure it is going to be a slow process but with the help of the parents and staff it will go faster. The band teacher is great. My son enjoys most of his classes but only talks about a couple of his teachers. I am in school myself so I don't have alot of time to be at the schools. The principal of Breitling and I spoke about the change going on. My husband and I were thinking of transferring our son to another school. Breitling's principal asked that we give it a try for a year. As for the uniforms, some kids have their uniforms donated to the school and the parents can go pick them up.

This school is going downhill quickly. The bullies run the place and the PE teachers are a joke. They need to just call it recess, not PE. At least they are finally going to have a cafeteria. They haven't had one since 2005. This school is ridiculously bad, overall.

i think the school is getting pretty bad when kids have to start buying water from school insted of bring a water bottle from home. and uniforms where a good idea but the price went majorly up since they know children have to have them . so what happens to kids that parents dont make alot of money kids are back to being made fun of and left out and i thought the whole idea of uniform and change is so that would not happen.thank.

As a retired middle school principal, I can attest to the positive learning environment at Grand Bay Middle School. The teachers are not only qualified, but are among the most caring professionals that I have ever met. The new administration provides a safe and orderly environment that is very much conducive to learning.
