Moved from a private school in the county to here as a freshman. The honors program here has challenged me here more than I was ever challenged at my old school. It has prepared me for college and the ACT. Without Jackson High I would be paying for my own tuition at UofA instead going there on scholarship. The community supports all sports strongly, and are willing to do anything for the kids. If you like small classes and easy work, and dont want to be prepared for college, go somewhere else. Yes, there are fights, but that will happen at any public school. I have never felt afraid or threatened here and I feel comfortable with my younger sister being here next year. Keep your head on straight and do what you need to do and you will be just fine. Jackson is an AGGIE NATION and one of, if not the best schools in this area. (I still call my teachers from JHS and get advice and help all the time, dont know really know what the review below is talking about, should have never left JA if they loved it so much)

I attended JHS a year ago and absolutey hated it. I moved from a private school in Jackson to the high school and couldnt believe how easy there work was. I didnt feel challenged at all and the teachers were not as friendly as the teachers I had at my old school. JHS had many fights and thats something a child shouldnt have to put up with at school. JHS is not the right schol for your kids to go to.

I graduated from JHS in 2006. I honestly believe it is a top school in the state. Of course a school can have its own problems. Students have a responsiblity to themselves and the school to study and work hard to pass these classes which are no walk in the park. I love JHS it is the Best. GO AGGIES.

I am a graduate of jhs with a child there now! if i didn't believe in the school, i would never have elected to send him there. As with all schools there are areas that need improvements, but it will come in due time. The majority of the staff are excellent teachers, but they can't do it alone. There is a huge need for parent involvment. Parents, these are your children, your responsibilities!! they need to see you there holding them accountable for their actions and grades! it is a proven fact that students who have parents involved in their lives achieve more in life. They need to know you care and are there for them. Jhs is a great school. There should be no hesitation in sending your child there. I have always been welcomed with any questions or concerns. Go aggies!

JHS is a school on the rise. I feel that the old Jackson High School spirit is returning to Jackson. We need a PTA and more involvement from parents in booster clubs as well. I believe that the lack of involvment by parents is the main reason for poor moral by the student body of JHS. I would also like to incourage all citizens to send there children to public schools in order for their child to have a well rounded education. I challenge parents and supporters to GET INVOLVED and do your part for JACKSON'S High School. AGGIE PRIDE!

I am grateful to Dr. Flowers for her help and faith in me. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The football team may not be so great but the guys have heart. The cheerleading squad is fabulous. Baseball, softball, and basketball are huge at JHS. Homecoming at JHS is a blowout. The tarp signs are unique to JHS and we will all remember the night boys got in trouble for ripping down the Jr. sign. I will surely miss JHS but I can't wait for the opportunities that college has. Send your kids to JHS...They will love it and it's relatively free. Go Aggies!

I am a parent and I have also had the plesure of working with some High School Seniors that did not pass their exit exam after several attempts. Remediation is provided by outside programs, but I feel it comes a little too late. This remediation should begin after the students fails test the first time. Remediaton should be mandatory-not an option. It makes no sense for parents and children to make it to the 12th grade and not pass these exams. I feel some employees are just receiving a check and waiting on their retirement. Do they really care about the students is what I want to know?

I am a 30 year old black female. I graduated from JHS in 1993. I must admit that I appreciate everything that I learned there, as it prepared me for college (Mrs. Haygood in particularly). I have a B.A. and a M.A. degree and I think my foundation at JHS had a lot to do with it. I was involved in extra-curricular activities as well. As for no PTA/PTO at the school. That is not the school's problem. It is the parents' problem. Don't expect the school to raise your children! You have to get involved and be involved with your child's education. My parents were. JHS is the best school.

To the person who wrote a bad review about Jackson High School, I want to say thank you. Everyone in Clark County knows that JHS is the best school in the county. The academic standards at this school is very high and the facility is the best around. The teachers at JHS give their students the best education, just look at the facts. To parents who want their children to be prepared for college send them to JHS. I was once a student at this demanding school and I used to complain to my parents about the high standards and the homework but now I am grateful. I am a junior at THE University of Alabama and without the learning I received from JHS, it would be impossible for me to complete. THANKS TO: Mr. Tuberville(best math teacher ever), Mrs. Massey, Mrs. Harper, Mrs. Hagood (thank you!)
