WFES is doing a great job! This school is providing each student with every opportunity to succeed! The only improvment this school needs is more parental and community involvment to insure the success of each and every child..

Wares Ferry Elem School has some great teachers. You cannot go by the scores posted on these websites. Visit the school talk to the teachers. The majority of them are willing and concerned about the education of our children. Bureauracy has tied the hands of our teachers. So many things they cannot teach in the classrooms. Now the big emphasis is on reading. Where's the balance with math, social studies, science? If there was less paper work then the teachers can focus on what's really important, that's teaching our children.

The educational opportunities at WFES are minimal at best. Most children are instructed below-grade level and teachers are not provided with necessary teaching tools. Although there are some good teachers here, the over-all quality of instruction is poor. Priorities are not uniform and too much time is spent off task in some classrooms. Most of the teachers cannot or will not meet the real needs of the children because of this. This is not a school for any child seeking to advance his academics.
