I have three children who attend New Market school and we love it. The teachers, staff and Principal make it a point to know every student and parent by name. New Market school just recently won the Blue Ribbon Award and is one of the best schools around.

My grandchildren go to New Market Elem. This is their 3rd year. The teachers are very loving and caring. They are extremely helpful. My kids go back to visit last years teachers and give them hugs. EVERYONE knows everyone. They treat all the kids the same - with respect, love and care. I appreciate all of them soooo much!

I just happened across this website looking for school supply lists for New Market School. I have to say that I am a parent of four children that attend New Market and you could not pay me to move them from this school. I also have an ADHD child who requires a little more sometimes to get his work finished or to stay in his seat, but i have never in all his years there (he will be entering 6th grade this year) had anyone not willing to help or give suggestions. MY children are going into 8th, 6th, 5th and 3rd grades. All of them have always been treated exceptionally well and givnen every opportunity and then some to excell in their studies. I give this school more than 5 stars, but thats all I can give them here. I just cant say enough how wonderful New Market School is!!!

New Market School is full of caring, professional teachers and administrators that strive to provide NMS's students with the best education possible. Even though we are a small, rural school access to new technology is excellent and one of Dr. Minskey s priorities. Almost every classroom has a SmartBoard Interactive Whiteboard, Interwrite Pads, projector, three or more classroom computers, and teacher laptop. Also, there are TWO computer labs and a roving laptop lab. Many teachers have great class websites, post student blog entries frequently, and use mp3 players/iPods for podcasting and listening centers. While all the technology is great, of course there is no substitute for a fantastic teacher. NMS is fortunate to have a school full of them!

We are parents of three children who have been at New Market School. Two of which are now 'graduates', but one is still there. I must say that I am not sure how many times other than the open house that the parent below has been to the school, but Dr. Minsky is doing a fabulous job. We are very involved, from sports to being up at the school many times a week and he has a genuine care and concern for these kids. He makes a point of learning each of the student's names, we have seen him at ball games, not just home, but away and he speaks to my kids whenever he sees them and encourages them in a positive manner. I agree that changes do come with a new administrator, but I must say as for our family, we are very pleased with New Market School!

As a parent I have noticed many changes at this school since it has a new principal. In the past I have always felt that my children were safe because Mr. Evans had a firm grasp on everything going on there. Under this administration I can't say the same. From the first open house to open a new school year Mr. rather Dr. Minskey gave the impression that he doesn't fit in with this community. We got about an hour of him telling all about his creditials but I didn't hear him tell anything about his plans for this school. This has always been a good school with teachers that go above and beyond to help children succeed. I know that a new administrator brings change but the changes that I am noticing are not positive. Hopefully, the teachers can continue to do an outstanding job in spite of him.

I graduated this past school year.I attended this school from kindergarten to 8th grade. I love New Market. I wish the grades they teach would go to 12th. I do admit under Mr. Evans the school had room to improve. But he is not the principal there anymore. Dr. Minsky, the new principal, has made great improvements. The parent involvement level has risen. I assure you this is the best school to attend in the Madison county school district. The technology is top notch, and the programs the have for the special needs students are good too. It is a small school which makes the student to teacher ratio very good, giving much needed one on one time for success. The teachers do the best to get their students to the top level. In fact, this year they have installed a special intercom system for 1 student who has trouble hearing.

I attended New Market School for six years. My mother and grandmother also attended this school. It is basicly your average small town school. I would do anything to go to schol there again. This school is also very involved with extracirricular activities. They really get the students pumped and excited about sports! Which could keep them out of trouble! I would reccommend this school to anyone looking for a great sense of belonging and an amazing education. My SAT test scores were exceptionally higher when I attended this school! -a previous student! (:

New Market School is the reason that our family moved to New Market. The school is a great source of pride for the community and many of the activities in the community revolve around the school. New Market is known for its lower teacher to student ratios which allows for more on-on-one time with the students. The faculty offers a strong commitment to maximum teaching and learning for their students. Their dedication to the students is evident by the general everyday operation of the school. They work very hard to ensure the success of every student. The teachers are excited about the subjects they teach, and that excitement is passed on to the students. The staff makes every effort to make sure all students have the opportunity to succeed.
