We love this school! Such a warm and friendly staff. Principal Ellis is outside every morning and afternoon. He greets all the children by name. My daughter absolutely loved Mrs. Smith. She went above and beyond to meet the emotional and academic needs of her students. My only complaint is that school as a whole does not have much in place for gifted children before the 3rd grade.
My son goe to OB elementary it is a fantastic school. Their Flagship programwith the Sea Sand And Stars center has made a wonderful addition to the schools education programs. The Teachers are among some of the best in the state maybe even the country. They strive for academic exellence and teaching their students to be caring and responsible students and citizens . Kudos Orange Beach Elementary Go Marlins!!!
I am a mother of 2 elem. My boys went to orange beach elem. We had to move out of state for family med. I feel that this school is the best ever. The people really care about the kids at this school. I wished the school my kids go to now was half as good with them. I feel o.B.E. Went the extra miles with my boys 100% + my boys have been in several schools due to husbands employment this school to me is the best ever.
I am so impressed with this school. We are new and previously lived in a well touted northern school system. From the well planned out 'Meet the teacher Day' to Open House I love it. I enjoy taking advantage of their open cafeteria policy and have eaten with my son several times. I find his teacher fantastic and able to work with each child on their own level. In meeting other parents who have children in different classes everyone is happy with the selection. I believe the teachers and office staff, including the principal, respect each other. I would recommend Orange Beach Elementary to anyone.
I have two children that have attend O.B.E.S..They both love the school very much. I have also spent a lot of time there substituting and volunteering. I find the teachers very qualified and always willing to discuss concerns. Mr. Baker is a very considerate principal, also willing to address any concerns. I am very pleased with the education my children are receiving.
We love this school. The student to teacher ratio is excellent and for the most part, the teachers are highly qualified and seem to really care about the students. The principal is very much involved and I think that pleased the students. One thing I do get frustrated with, though, is the amount of fundraiser and donations the school expects. It seems that every week I get something sent home where the school is asking for money or some sort of donation. I think it's great that the PTO especially wants to raise as much money for the students as possible, but there comes a time when enough is enough. I don't think I can give much more than I already have an it's only 2 months into the school year! Overall, I am pleased with the school, but the countless fundraiser have got to stop!
We have two children attending Orange Beach Elementary School. We have had nothing but a positive experience. Our children are in a safe, clean, positive environment. I volunteer on a weekly basis, I'm not one for small talk so I take the opportunity to watch and listen as an observer. It is my personal observation that this is a school with a caring and respectable principal. And very giving teachers. I have seen over and over again thoughout the past 3 yrs. the personal time and money the teachers have put into making their classrooms the best that they can be for their students. The studens for the most part are well mannered and respectful while walking through the hallways. I believe that is a good sign of teacher respect. Signed, Just a Mom
I have one child in OBES. I hear over and over what a wonderful school this is, and how the best teachers are at this school. Our experience has been that the administrators are more concerned with appearances (looking good in the public eye), than with the children's overall academic and personal growth. I am certain that some of the teachers are wonderful, and love what they do, just not the ones my child has had.
I'm not sure where this info comes from--my child is in a class with 27 students and one teacher! Not impressed with the teachers my children have. Some of the worst we have had! Asking for $$ all the time. Spend millions on principals pet project while classes are overcrowded and much improvement is needed in other areas. it has been a horrible experience, cant wait to move.
Orange Beach Elementary is the best school on the planet! The students love going to school, the teachers are excited and motivated, and best of all, the principal treats teachers like professionals. The moral at OBES is outstanding! I would never leave, no matter how many hurricanes we have here!
