I am a graduate of Plainview High School. Plainview constitutes a great environment for both students and staff. Under strict administration, while still allowing fun annual events, Plainview balances the studies and memories made. Anyone affiliated with Plainview High School knows that academics are top priority to the faculty and this has been the case for decades, as the school receives top scores on standardized tests, annually. Also important, however, is the emphasis on extracurricular activities such as cheerleading, band, and especially athletics. The Bears football team has made appearances in the State playoffs for 21 straight years. Other sports at Plainview include: baseball, basketball, softball, golf, tennis, and volleyball. Plainview has an "image," as many around the county say. Most outsiders see the families of those who attend the school as being "superior" or "cocky." Maybe this is true, maybe it isn't. Politics are everywhere, including this high school.

Im currently a senior at this school, and for the most part its a very nice school. I mean sure, you've got your people that think they're better than everyone else, but honestly you wont go anywhere where you won't find those kinds of people.

I love going to Plainview High School. It has a great atmosphere. Students actually want to learn there unlike other schools in the county. We all strive to be great at what ever we do,and thats probaly why the other scools think we are stuck up,but we are really not. We are just proud of our accomplishments because we work so hard for them. And your parents don't have to be anybody for you to fit in. Everybody talks to everybody. I have heard many new kids tell me they were shocked at how nice we were, that we were normal, and didn't have the perfect lives they thought we did.

I am not from the area and my children are in Kindergarten & 2nd grade. I have had no problems with anyone or anything from this school. And from what I'm seeing I would rather my kids attend Plainview than Fort Payne.

Plainview high school is so policical. It really matters who you are and who your parents are and if your parents went to school there too. If your parents are not affluent in this town, then you will be a nobody in this school. Find another school if you want to fit in!

This is unfortunately a 'good ole boy' school. If you as parents did not go to this school as parents. Your child will not fit in. Send them to Cornerstone Academy instead if you are new to the area.
