As a parent, grandparent and teacher,I must say, this is an excellent school. The teachers actually care about their students. In response to the parent that disagree with a teacher who does not pass a child on from Kdg. to 1st grade, first; if a child has not matured, attained the necessary skill levels needed to be successful in first grade, the teacher would actually do more harm than good by passing the student on.A student must have a good understanding of what is expected of him or her on any learning level and be able to function accordingly. Parents must learn to put their child first, not their pride. Believe me,your child will thank you later. Your child will be just as successful as any other student and be able to make up the year that they were held behind by the time they are in the mid level grades.teachers really do care.
I think it is outragious to fail a kindergarten student. In this school parents don't have a choice whether their child pass on to first grade or be set back. Coosa elementary needs to get with the program.
