Overall a good school. The school need more teachers like Mrs. Benford. She is the best science teacher ever. Very experienced, loving, caring, and motivating. Dr. Ramsey need to get help. She can't run any events. She is very unorganized. Other than that, this school is like any other school. All schools have issues.
My recomendation: Fire the staff, and bulldoze the building to the ground. The land was more productive as a cotton field then a place to teach children.
This school needs better leadership from the top down...our kids and there education are more important than grown folks and their egos.
the entire staff at this school needs to be fired and replaced with staffers who care for the kids.... from bullies to staff who doesnt care for the kids . its time for the issues that have been a problem for the last 10 yrs to be addressed now !!!!
I am a student that currently goes to RCMS and sure it's got it's kinks and whatever, but really it's not completely the staff's fault. The real problem at RCMS is that we get kids with no home training and when the kids come to school here, they come to play and not learn. The students at RCMS, not all of them mind you, are the real problem. If parents would control their kids at home and set higher standards for them than yes, RCMS would be one of the top-ranking schools in Alabama. Also, yes, i am a student produced from the russell county school system and have been going there my whole life except one year that i went to Blackmon Rd. Middle School.
People should be very careful of sending their kids there. Some of the teachers are very petty and they don't help the kids enough. I have no respect for the principal she has done nothing to fix the school as yet.
I will not recommend no one to RCMS school because there is a lack of concern from the principal down to some of the teachers and i feel if you do not have good leadership what do you expect of the kids.
my kid goes to school and they never been to a field trip or went outside and did games.you should get more activities for the kids to play.
I am NOT pleased with this school at all. From bullies to curriculum this school is the worst. Children have been assaulted bullied and the staff does nothing to rectify the situation. The whole staff is just there to collect a paycheck without having to work for it during the time our children suffer from not receiving a good education. we as parents should all get together and go to a board meeting so we can be heard and so atleast bring all the troubles to light and bring on an investigation to FIX things at this school. Changes NEED to take effect, if not OUR children and future students there will suffere from this.
I have a child who has been at RCMS for the last two year. I must say that I am pleased with all the changes that have taken place since Dr. Ramsey has become principal. The faculty and staff have adopted her philosophy that students are the number one priority. The students seem to enjoy school more. I have been told that attendance is up and students are given more opportunities to participate in activities. If RCMS stays on its current path, I see nothing but good things ahead. Many parents who are unhappy with the school are those whose children are behavior problems or they want their children to receive special treatment. Good job. RCMS for taking a stand for education
