My grandchildren have received a quality education at South Choctaw Academy. A winning combination of teachers, staff, parents and alumni back up a really good school.
My 2 grandchildren attend school here. They love it and so do I. The special programs they have for grandparents day, etc. are super. I love the way they praise and acknowledge God.
I am a student at SCA. There is no place i would rather be. At SCA, I feel at home. The teachers and students are all like one big family. I have attended millry and every single school in Choctaw County except for CCHS and I can honestly say that SCA has been the best so far. I am a cheerleader and softball player at SCA. The sports are great, the academics are great. It's just a great place to be! haha The only thing that I wish would change about SCA is all the homework. I have homework in every subject every night, and I even had a test in every subject the very same day. Six tests in one day is just too much. But other than that, it is a great place. If you are considering sending your child to SCA, I promise you you are making a
SCA has problems just like any other school in our area but they also have alot of good things to offer students. I attended Butler Elementary and graduated from CCHS so I know all about the 'problems' with Choctaw County's public schools. I also send two of my kids to SCA and another child graduated from PA. So, to the person that stated PA is a better school, you do not know what you are talking. I personally know PA has the same issues and problems that SCA has. As for snooty kids-- PA students are just as bad. As a child CCHS students were never as good as anyone that attend PA or so they thought. Unfortunately there is a so-called click at all the school in the county. It seems to be an issue in what they are taught at home not at the school.
This school really meant a great deal to me as I went through my years in school. As a student you really feel like you are part of a family and the staff really cares about you. I know that I would be proud to send my children here.
My children attened this school from Kindergarten thru 12. They received an excellent education which was evident when they attended college. I now have 2 grandchildren there; one in kindergarten and one in third grade. The education they are receiving is excellent. The one in kindergarten is already reading at an amazing level. This comparison is made to my other 7 grandchildren who are in other schools out of state.
Principal leadership: I think she trys real hard, but sometimes she gets to much advice from other sources. She does not give parents any credit. She should remember as a parent, sometimes parents can make better choices about their kids than principals can. Teacher Quality: Some really good teachers and some not so good. Just like every other school. Extracurricular Activities: They have a bunch, but it keeps the kids busy, so I guess it is good. 'A idle mind is the devils workshop'. Parent Involvement: is great. Parents really get invovled in their kids activities. Safety and Discipline: I think this is really good. Most of the kids shows real respect. I think the office staff and most of the teachers really care about the kids.
let the previous comment from mr. campbell speak for itself. grammatical errors abound. spend your money where you can count on a decent education-- drive a few miles further and go to a real school. PA.
Not worth the money. Facilities are not comparable to public schools in the area or other private schools. A very snobbish school. If a student is not in the clique then he/she forget it.
SCA..what to say..I've went to SCA for a very long time. I would have to recommend it to anyone in Choctaw Co.. Great teachers, people, and environment. Just a few things wrong..But there in the works on getting them fixed!
