The little pockets of snobbery and brat factor is something to consider when moving to Liberty Park. It's mostly white, entitled kids with their parents catering to most every whim. The school reflects this and the academics leaves much to be desired. Not impressed and regret sending my child to this school. We're moving so that our son doesn't have to endure the brats there.
While overall I am more than pleased with the quality of my child's teachers, one 6th grade teacher was definitely a weak-link. Poor use of instructional time and lack of concern for students mars what would otherwise be a stellar academic faculty. Complaints of many parents have been ignored.
I have had two students complete grades 6-8 at LPMS and looking forward to enrolling my third. Academics are first rate. Previous poster is clearly uninformed about the Vestavia school system with her allegation there are no honors classes. Math is tracked into Honors and this follows students into the High School, as it does at Pizitz. Enrichment classes are provided for 6th and 7th G/T students. Sports & extra-curriculars are woefully inadequate, but this is a smaller, newer school. Students are generally well-behaved . Discipline problems are dealt with quickly and firmly. My HS students are doing just fine in all Honors and AP classes at VHHS with the foundation laid for them at LPMS.
The school is good, but lacks in Academics; there are not Honors classes, or AP classes. I feel the school is still too young, therefore it's still not fully develop in many areas. PTO is strong, and so is the parent involvement, but like I said at the beginning the school lacks in Academics. I have one child here, but will not put my other child in this school, unless it becomes complete in many areas as a whole. I will write another review towards the end of the school year.
