Pro: Some of our teachers, such as Mr. Shawn Hite are the of the highest caliber. His innovative approach to learning and sharing computer technology with his scutdents is immeasurable. Pro: Mr Shawn Hite currently teaches advanced CISCO Classes which enable qualified high school students to obtain college credit for their high school classes. (In addition, he is truly a wonderful and caring counselor.) He is one example, our school thrives with active and interesting teachers. Pro: All children in high school are assigned a personal guidance counselor. The ratios are low, so students feel as if someone at school is monitoring their development. I t hink the ratio is 10 students to 1 teacher/counselor. Con: Our school system lacks most vo-tech programs that are available in other States. Con: All students are forced to take algebra. If this is above their skill level, the children are set up for failure. This hinders their self esteem during a crucial phase in their development. Con: Our budget is not high enough to cover costs needed to properly educate our young people. Our teachers need higher pay raises. We must improve board behavior and communication to encourage our administrators to stay longer than one contract term.
