Russian Old Believer accomodating school within the Kenai Peninsula Borough District within the village of Voznesenka, about twenty miles east of Homer, Alaska. Voznesenka maintains high standards while accomodating the students' Holy Days, seasonal work-related fishing needs, and wedding gatherings. While a public school and being Russian Old Believer is not mandatory, currently 100% of students are. Russian is taught through 11th grade. students participate in competitive sports of Varsity football, girls middle school soccer and JV and Varsity Hockey. Maintaining attendence is always a challenge; graduation rates have steadily increased with drop-outs down to less than 10%. Most students remain and continue to graduation even after marriage.
