This is a good school. It is better than any of the other nearby schools. They have uniforms and a very strict anti-bullying policy. They have higher expectations academically, so only recommend for students who are college bound and have the necessary motivation to function in a college prep environment.

There seems to be a lot of homework, but probably no more than the nearby high school.

Kari at the front desk is awesome. She is the glue that seems to hold everything together. The Principal and Vice Principal are also excellent.

Most of the teachers seem very young and fairly new to teaching. This can be good in that they are energetic, but they need to have realistic expectations.

Students are expected to be self motivated. There is not much prompting on the school's part. The school's ultimate goal is to make each student college ready, so students are expected to set their own goals.

The students are expected to be highly respectful or they will be reprimanded severely. This is probably the number one priority of this school.

Develops empathy: Agree

This school is highly concerned with treating all students equally, and expects the same in how students treat each other.

This school strongly discourages bullying and enforces a no bullying policy. They have a dress code that is rigidly enforced.

My Son transferred from a smaller school. I was under the impression they had small class sizes. The class sizes were 35+ students. My son is a strong willed child. He was tossed in with the "trouble Makers' category almost immediately cause he didn't fit in the "it" crowd. He was just another problem to them. He was picked on and bullied and the staff did nothing but punish him when he tried to stand up for himself. One of the drawing factors was their Robotics program that didn't exist. There was very little communication between the office and the parents and even less between the teacher and parent. He was bored and was not challenged in class. I wound up pulling my son after only 3 months at this campus and putting him back in his previous school. If i wanted my son unchallenged, Bullied and in a class of 35+ I would have put him in the over crowded Apache Junction public schools.
