Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

We have found Primavera to be a fantastic option for our 10th grader. She started mid-year ninth grade and has stuck with it. Focusing on two courses at a time, has allowed her to learn much more than juggling five to six subjects at a time. She is always able to reach a teacher direct with any questions and the advisory staff has also been tremendously helpful. Also the flexibility of her being able to do school work anytime 7 days a week, works very well for our busy family!

I decided to enroll with Primavera Online High School almost 2 years ago, and I am glad I did. I am finally able to say I am a high school graduate thanks to the amazing help from the staff and a lot of hard work. I was able to finish school while being a mother and working. Without Primavera I would not have been able to graduate. I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful school. I am now able to put my dreams into reality thanks to Primavera. The entire staff is friendly and understood my situation and worked with me every step of the way.

I would reccomend this school for juniros and seniors because you have more responsibility at that age. If you even miss one day of class you will fall behind however i really recommend the summer courses it allowed me to catch up on credits the only bad part is they dont let you take no more than two classes if you dont have an A or B in both classes. I went into this school with one credit and i gained 15 however i am now doing public school. If you are responsible enough to get up everyday and do your classes without nobody telling you than this is a school for you.. Most of the classes are easy you can even finish early nd get extra credit teachers are nice well most of them the math teachers and coaches are really helpful they give u one on one tutoring which is very helpful

This school is awesome. I was able to graduate a year early. I recieved all 'A' in my classes at this school. The teachers care and want you to get the best grade. The councilors are awesome and help you through everything. They call you to check up and make sure you are on track. They also help you with getting enrolled in dual enrollment at the college. This school offers way more dual enrollment classes than my high school I went to before did. I just graduated from this school with a GPA of 3.75. Before I transfered to Primavera, my GPA was a 2.9 and I was failing classes. This is the best school by far. Especially since you can work it around your schedule. I was able to travel with my competitive cheer team without missing school. I also was able to work full time and attend college classes at the community college. When I graduated from High school I was a second semester sophomore due to being able to take dual enrollment and attend college classes.

I have just recently graduated from Primavera Online High School. I was nervous at first because I wasn't sure how I would do with being home schooled. I started at the begining of my junior year and I am very happy I joined Primavera because I received a lot of help and the teachers are wonderful. Guidence councilors and student advisors are always avaiable and helpful. My councilor was on top of everything, had me signed up for my class on time and kept track of my graduation process. Teachers were always so helpful during the classes as well. I know a lot of parents worry about online schools being too easy and let me tell you that is not the case! Primavera is just as challenging as any other high school. They also have great programs and groups so that the kids can still socialize. I would absolutely advise anyone looking at online schooling to go with Primavera.

When I first came to Primavera Online High School I was already a senior. I had struggled socially at my previous high school and we decided I needed a fresh start. From the beginning, Primavera has been amazing. They are straightforward, honest, and easy to work with in all aspects. While I didn't struggle academically, the way that Primavera is structured forced me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to interact with my fellow students at least once a week. The teachers are wonderful, and give their precious time away to help their students. Overall, I have to say that Primavera HS has been the best learning experience for me in high school. There is no bullying, gossip or distractions which can cause academic or social struggles. The teachers are very professional and good at what they do. The counselors and student advisers are incredibly invested in the student's well-being academically and otherwise. Lastly, the entire program which Primavera uses is excellent and was recently renovated. It's extremely easy to use. This school saved my grades and my social life, and I would highly recommend it for anyone in high school.

Primavera for me, at the simplest can be described as an extraordinary school to attend as a part-time student. The classes are great with extremely interactive courses. Some things which consist of in this program include daily lessons, Adobe sessions, projects and much much more. I thank this experience to all my great teachers: Mrs. Walker, Ms. Inere, and Ms. Massalha.

Primavera is a very biased school. They have no respect for their students and do not contact them, its like they're avoiding you. The courses always glitch and crash. Teachers are not cooperative. The school often brings up religion its their courses and will often ask your opinion and tell you its wrong and grade you on it. Don't do full time here. Part time maybe. Or find another charter school.

This school is horrible. They treat students like they're delinquents and have zero respect for them over the phone or through email. I've never had an issue with a teacher but the student advisors and counselors are absolutely horrid to work with. Just go to regular school, don't make the same mistake I did.

My son finished his high school career online through Prima Vera. He took 9 classes, all but 1 had a fabulous, very involved teacher. His final 6 weeks included both English 12A and 12B. The teachers, Weiss and Forrester were both motivating and caring men. I applaud the strategies and time that they put forth to their students. My son's advisor, Ryan P. was more involved with my son's schooling than any advisor has been in the private schools that 3 of my kids have attended. He, and the other advisors were always willing to walk me through any issues that I had. My only complaint is a technical issue that arose when my son took 2 math classes that needed to use the same program. The issue was taken care of with the help of the tech dept. and the teachers involved. Online High School may not be for everyone, but for my son, it has been a lifesaver. I rated parent involvement with 1 star. We live in Tucson, Prima Vera is in Chandler. I think that the parent involvement rating should be removed for the online school. Frankly, I am tired of planning class parties and bake sales, so the online program was a positive for me, as well.

I am a student at Primavera and to be honest it has some good and bad to it. The good things are that my advisers were always interested in helping me and called to se how I was going. The classes like reading and science and art, you have to do 5 project which I think is way to much. But in other classes like history you only do three. And in my algebra class you don't do any projects. The bad things are that it is easy to do the workbook but they have way to many activities. And when teachers get brakes we don't! I also don't like how they want me to spend 6 or more hours on it daily.

The website it awful. It glitches, it says that correct answers are wrong, sometimes there are questions on things you'll be covering in the next section. It's these small errors that can lead to lots of frustration and a few points determining what letter grade you get.

Not only is the service here awful, but the staff and teachers also deliberately ignore students when they feel like it. As a victim of an inconsistent grading criteria, I called as well as emailed many times to plead for the reconsideration of my grade however was only met by empty promises and being blocked from several attempts at communicating. My class was comprised of myself and one other student. The issue was that there was a discussion section in which it was required that one post at least ten sentences for a 100%. Posting 20 sentences, I received full credit on one discussion section but received 87% for 27 sentences. What is even more ludicrous is the criteria that discussions require which include responding to a classmate. However, there were sections in which my classmate and my teacher did not post in leaving me stranded to elaborate on the discussion which led to an almost coordinated failure. I do not recommend this school for anyone with an actual intent to learn or to succeed. The school has many holes and inconsistencies which are completely destructive to the learning process as well as to the overall grade.

There are many issues with this school, I'll be the first to admit, but I've never had a teacher that was rude or not interested in helping me. I've had many teachers go above and beyond to encourage and help me finish when I've gotten behind. Yes, the horrendous update messed up the site for awhile (even causing me to be unable to finish my block which did anger me). I loved everything the way it used to be, there wasn't really anything wrong with it that the update fixed so it seemed pretty unnecessary, so I don't understand why they felt the need to try and make it fresh, but whatever. Yes, there are frustrating glitches. Yes, for two hours a night the site is down for some reason which is also frustrating, but every staff member I've ever talked to has been overtly helpful and kind. The school isn't great, I'll give you that, there's much to complain about, sometimes I even think about switching, but it is convenient. It's an okay school, but the staff, at least in my experience, has always been wonderful. (I've never called tech support, so I can't attest for them, but my current student advisor, all of my teachers, and my past enrollment advisors have been amazing.)

I for one have lost any and all faith I'd had in taking online classes. The teachers are uninterested and unhelpful, the tech support was no support at all, and their database is so flawed that it put me and my classmates weeks behind in work. When we told their tech department they basically said, "Sorry, but we're not sorry, figure it out on your own." I was so frustrated and I've spent my nights in tears because I've been so frustrated and nervous. I'm going to fail my class because of their hugely flawed system. 0/10 I would not recommend this school to anyone. Thankfully, this credit isn't imperative for me to obtain but for anyone who would be in that situation I would not recommend you would even put yourself through the stress and pain that this class would inflict upon you. DON'T DO IT.

Worst I've ever dealt with!!! My daughters advisors never contacted her even though she reached out multiple times. Her teachers were rude and uninterested in helping her. The curriculum was random and often unexplained. Grading was irrational. My daughter spent most nights in tears because she was so stressed. They did not respond to emails, voicemails or portal messages. Took months to process her transcripts and even LOST HER CREDITS!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. TERRIBLE SCHOOL

Honestly this is the worst school I have ever been to. I have a lot of medical problems and because of them I can't attend a physical school. This school is awful, the site is down CONSTANTLY which prevents you from doing any work. When the site was down for almost a week, instead of giving everyone more time to complete the course they forced us to catch back up, punishing us for something we had no control over All the classes are badly organized, to the point where there will be questions on a quiz that are only taught in the lessons following the quiz! They honestly don't care about their students learning the material. Some teachers really do care about their students but most couldn't care less and consider this school as an easy paycheck. Please don't waste your time with this school.

Primavera cares more about creating an image that they care about their students learning. They only care about their enrollment numbers and how many students "pass." Teachers are paid bonuses based on how many students "pass." Teachers will pass students just to gain the extra money and not worry about the student actually learning the material. More than half the students in evey class fail or should fail the classes. The setup is ridiculous and the administrators are not properly trained. I Would never work there again or send my children there. Students deserve a better school!

Glad to see Primavera is still a screwed up mess of a company since I left 2 years ago. Hopefully it will be shut down soon and the clueless losers that run it will be out of a job, especially in the IT and Curriculum department. The only ones that were any good have long since left. The "positive" reviews are faked by the marketing department.

I was a student here at Primavera and it was a horrible experience and a waste of my time. I took classes over the summer to get a head in school and maybe be able to graduate early, but that was not the case. Primavera failed to communicate with me and tell me that each class was only worth 1/2 of a credit and not a full one. When i saw my transcript i couldn't believe it. Not only that but it took them almost a month just to fax my transcripts to my primary high school. It was very hard to get a hold of someone to help, i would have to call more than once to talk to an actual person. I know of other people who have had these problems. Do not even waste you or your child's time with this school .

Very confused organization. Signed my kid up for the wrong classes. The online system was down for almost two weeks out of a 6 week term. I think they are just in it for the $. One class had 3 teachers in 6 weeks!! I wonder why this is? Do they treat the teachers well?

Finding Primavera Online High School has been a most amazing experience as a parent of a bright kid who does not fit into the systems regimented style. He excels at history, English, and science but has struggled to remain organized and get paperwork into his teachers. This is a very good school for students who love to learn independently and I wish I had used this school sooner. From his freshman year to his senior year my son has shown applied learning, had teachers praise his abilities and learned to focus and interact with others in a creative learning environment. The work is not easy but his teachers have adobe sessions and office hours to guide and help any student having issues. Being involved and staying on top of what my son does at Primavera is easy on the dashboard. It gives graduation progress and unofficial transcripts. The support staff of Primavera has been helpful. His advisers and counselors have been informative and pleasant to talk with even when things go wrong. My son has a job and volunteers at our Fire Department and is planning on attending college. I highly recommend this to any parent who is wanting a more active role in the education of your child.

Primavera is an online school so of course there will be some tech problems, as long as your teacher is informed the grade and problem will get fixed. I love Primavera, adobe sessions are my favorite. They are group or one on one virtual tutoring sessions, teachers make them enjoyable not boring like a lecture. In order to be a successful student at primavera you need to push yourself to do the work on time and go to teachers with any questions. Parents get access to grades, teachers, and work 24/7 like students. I would recommend this school to any *ambicious* student, they need to be the kind to not set off work.

Lots of problems at Primavera: Math was the first 2 blocks and not revisited without an "additional load" so therefore Aims was a bomb! Have to double up on work load to have Thanksgiving and other holidays off. I called a teacher for help and he told me I had to schedule an appointment. I could only talk to him once a week for 10 minutes. Where's the help there. So on Thanksgiving, if I had trouble on Monday and had to wait until Wednesday to talk to him, and I had to double up to have the holiday off, how do I get Thanksgiving off now! The also changed the program set up right before summer break, and there were glitches galore, more problems! The classes themselves are full of glitches. The computer program says an answer is wrong, but it really is not. But, I have to wait until my scheduled appointment to call to find out if it is right or wrong? No breaks, lousy program, some poor teachers. That's just off the top of my head, I'd have to rewind the year all over again, and that's just too stressful. Some teachers were great. I had a writing teacher who spent a lot of time with me, but she was gone the next block. Oops, probably spent over the allotted 10 min. per student!

New to this school...my daughter is having constant technical difficulties. We have a home computer that now has some virus...then I had my daughter us our laptop and is having some type of continuous glitches. We leave 10 messages before we get 1 returned call and still can't help!!! Frustrated!

Problems since day 1...Very difficult to get a hold of any enrollment advisor. Left 8 messages...never got a call returned. When finally speaking to an advisor and tech support, there was no resolve. Both staff members could not and did not help with the online technical glitches and could not offer any solution. Used both home computer and purchased a brand new laptop..but they kept saying it was problems in my end. I had not had any virus problems or glitches in my computer or laptop until my daughter began her online course. Very frustrated!! I cannot give ratings on teacher quality, because I have not had any contact with one..nor principle leadership..again no contact.

Primavera has been the perfect choice for my lifestyle. I believe that Primavera is an inspiring match for many others as well. Yes you have to be motivated, yes you have to try; but with the personalized education Primavera staff provides learning is definitely encouraged and made fun for everyone. At age 11 my mother passed and my father abandoned me, so I moved in with my older brother and wife. I work 50+ hours a week to help support my household. In addition, I volunteer at a local hospital as I aspire to become an OB-GYN. I was also apart of various clubs at Primavera Online, such as Student Government. When I began at Primavera for my freshman year of high school I was worried that I wouldn't have the socialization I had with traditional schooling however I was happily surprised that Primavera has clubs and social events to keep you involved, as well as make you feel comfortable. I am in Primavera's "Class of 2013", graduating a whole year early because of Primavera Online. Through my full time job, my volunteer work, and extracurricular activities Primavera made it possible for me to succeed. Finishing #8 out of 681 students, anything is possible. Thank you Primavera!

My student finished his senior year at Primavera due to a medical issue that caused him to miss a lot of school and get behind in traditional school. At Primavera, I felt like the teachers were more involved and interested in his success more than at regular high school. The counselors rocked!!! And my student actually graduated high school with 6 college credits under his belt.

I have been a student at Primavera for a year and a half. To be honest I wish I would have started online school a long time ago. I was unsure at first about doing online school but once I got started with Primavera I realized it was the best educational decision I have ever made. At my previous high school I encountered many problems. The teachers were rude and unhelpful unless of course your parent was with you. The majority of students were wrapped around in the world and only cared about drama and inappropriate topics. It got to the point where I was extremely unhappy and felt like school wasn't even about having a good education, it felt like it was more based on drama and students social lives. Primavera allowed me to concentrate on my schoolwork and focus on what really mattered, my education. Eventually when I was steady with my courses and use to the settings of online high school I began working a full time job and still was able to succeed in my courses. Primavera gave me so many more opportunities than public school could have ever offered me.

After reading some of these reviews, I wonder if my daughter is attending the same school! Primavera has been a positive experience for us. I personally found the courses easy to follow, to cover the appropriate material, and to be in line with my daughter's learning style. The grade book is easy to navigate and your child's student advisor is always more than happy to answer any questions. To address the issue a student had with working during school hours, I must say that during the time that my daughter was unable to be in contact with the school for a variety of reasons, I was able to act as the contact point: pass along information, ask questions, and answer the teacher's/advisor's questions. Although the curriculum is online, having weekly contact with the school is not just recommended it is required. My experience is that the teachers do make themselves available, many of them offering help when needed during their "free" time. Teacher's aids are also available during alternate/later hours. Each teacher runs a live adobe session once per week, if not on multiple days; some of these sessions are during the day, but many teachers run theirs "after hours" around 6, 7 P.M.

They DO NOT know what they are doing or how to handle their students properly. One block your in a math class and half-way through it they decide to put you in another math class for NO REASON WHAT-SO-EVER. This has happened countless times; it's not a one time occurrence. Also, their diploma only recognized by a couple of colleges, good luck getting into a good one with their diploma I would highly recommend going to a different school.

I have worked with Primavera for a short time and I must say, their employees are truly focused on making Primavera student's experience the best possible. The CEO is all about making things better and more user friendly, which helps their students learn more and hit their academic goals. The negative reviews I have read seem very uncharacteristic of what Primavera is about, so keep in mind that although Primavera provides the tools, the students have take ownership of their education and make the effort to reach their goals. Primavera staff will do everything in their power to help struggling students stay on track and get their diploma.

I have had the privilege of teaching at Primavera for over a year now and it has been a great experience. This is my first teaching job out of college and, while I did have other options, I chose Primavera because I could tell the administrative staff would be there to support me and help me as a new teacher. Turns out my intuition was correct. The (current) principal has been a guiding mentor throughout the last 18 months and I really couldn't have supported the kids without her. She's shown me how to put the students first and provide them the quality education they deserve. Other schools pull teachers in many different directions, but I've always felt the decisions and changes to the school curriculum and student handbook are there to help the succeed. Each day I'm excited to help students who thrive in our online environment because a traditional school didn't work out for them. I'm glad we can offer a variety of ways for students to learn in today's age and Primavera excels as an online school.

I wanted to share my excitement about Primavera. Have had so many students say it is the first time they have felt successful in school. The classes are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Teachers, support staff and technical help is easily reached for any questions and are ready to help. The leadership team is lead by Principal Bender. She has such a rich history in education. In her implementing of new procedures the best interest of the student is always in the fore front of her decision making. The principal and her assistants are so easily reached by phone and email if ever a question needs answered. Such a forward thinking school that provides all the tools to be a success!

I have to agree with the review below. The place is literally run by so-called adults that act like children. The CEO and managers line their pockets with taxpayer money while they churn out poorly-designed curriculum and websites with numerous flaws. Employee turnover is very high. Don't be fooled by their slick advertising, if they were any good they wouldn't need it.

We have found the school to be lacking in support. Teachers often are unavailable, some only available two hours during a day and then in the evening. There are computer glitches and when there is a problem it often takes some time to be resolved. Parents do not have the access they should have either and it is difficult to figure out exactly what's happening when looking online anyway. The classes are 5 weeks long, but if you're not making it through you just fail and have to retake the course. As a previous homeschooling family, we have been disappointed in the lack of attention. When at a get to know you event, students had an attitude of "it doesn't matter, I can just retake the class." Taking only two courses at a time sounds good, but if there's no special attention when needed, what good is it? If your child is already above average it will work well, but if your student needs help with some subjects, Primavera leaves something to be desired. We will be leaving after this session.

My son was failing 9th grade, until I enrolled him in Primavera. He has received 4 A and 2 B grades within the past 3 months. He is so much happier and less stressed than before. That is great for my husband and I also. I recommend this school to any parent that has a child that is struggling or having problems in traditional school. All staff that we have came into contact with have been great and really care about your child. They do work in 6 week time frames and students take 2 courses at a time. It makes more time for the kids to stay on 1 subject and have a better chance of learning it. When my son had 6 courses at once, it seemed like he was always trying to catch up. We really like that the classes are open 24 hours a day. So students can work in their own time schedule. My son has a learning disability and this really helps, because some days he works great and others he seems to know nothing. Everyone is so caring and helpful.

This school isn't worth it at all. I've been a student at Primavera for a year, and in that time, I've learned more from Google than being here. I originally came to Primavera in the hopes of having more freedom, but, being an advanced computer user and Linux user, I found myself being forced to install Windows in order to do anything, since it relies heavily on aging software such as Flash. On top of that, I hold a full-time job that goes from 9 AM to 5 PM, so I am unable to answer their phone calls. I've told my counselor and teachers about this via E-Mail, but they have resorted to calling me 4-5 times in a row in the hopes that I'd answer. Because of this, as well as my job's strict policy of not being able to answer phone calls, I've been forced to block them from calling me. They haven't responded to any E-Mails I've sent them regarding important things (such as a death in my family which made me unable to do a week of school), and because of the huge lack of communication, I've failed more classes than I did at a regular high school. The only things I've received from them are automated e-mails. Overall, I'm very disappointed and will be going back to a normal school.

Disappointed to learn school was not focused on credit recovery. Students can only take 1 core subject at a time and 1 elective, which means they concentrate on only 1 subject for 30+ hrs a wk, during the entire length of the course. In additon, they require student's struggling in math to take 1 core math course along with an AIMS math elective - this causes students to become confused and fail the course because they are having to master two different math concepts at one time. This practice is indicative of an administration who is more concerned with their overall AIMS score, which defines the school s performance, rather than helping student s reach their academic goals. Apart from the administration, the teachers seem to care and their online video lessons are engaging. Some info you may or may not like: Student s are required to speak to their teachers over the phone each week. They are also required to post 10 comments, 3-4 sentences long, on the Student Discussion Board each week.

BEST SCHOOL EVER! Hi, my name is Anastasia, and I have been a freshmen student here at Primavera for.. Four months? And it is so amazing, I'm not even kidding. It is so much more simple, and teaches more here, and my teachers actually listen to me and help me individually. I only take 2-4 classes a block, but their program make you graduate earlier :)) I am taking 4 classes, and now thanks to my AWESOME school, I will graduate in 2012 December, when I'm 15. I actually have a bigger social life than ever before O_O.. primavera has a jillion clubs that students can choose from, and they can talk to each other face-to-face and go onb field trips, hang out, go to dances etc! I'm in Student Government (I'm senator), Club ASU (Looks brilliant on a college resume), and Key Club. When I first saw this school, I was blinded by its awesomeness ;)

The traditional classroom isn't right for everyone! For a truly individualized, personalized education, Primavera is simply the best choice there is. With today's busy schedules, being able to learn at your own pace, in your own time, is a huge plus. Your classroom is there 24 hours a day, seven days a week! The best part - it's free! I've never had the privilege to work with a more dedicated group of professionals. My students are simply the best! I couldn't recommend Primavera more highly. Whether you simply want an alternative to a traditional classroom, want to graduate early, have children, have health issues, have legal issues, or just want a change, Primavera is here to help!

I attended Primavera for my senior year of high school so that I could work full time and still complete my education. It was a truly great experience- the teachers worked with me and my unique schedule, and were very quick at getting back to me when I needed my questions answered. One short month after graduating with Primavera I obtained an Enrollment Advisor position with them, and I love sharing my experience as a student with those who are new to our school. :)
