My daughter graduated in 2001. She received an excellent education. She had 2 teachers that were interested enough to help her 'come out of her shell'. She had always been the 'quiet one' in class until her Jr. year. They saw potential and creativity in her that just needed a little 'push'. Their interest helped her become class speaker at graduation, an active member and leader in speech and debate, and an honor student. Unfortunatly some teachers were more focused on how they themselves apppeared to others if their students did not perform as the #1 class in their curriculum. These teachers did not take an interest in any student that did not enter their classroom as a top student! They didn't care about the 'jewels in the rough' The parents that spoke to these teachers were ignored and were told their child didn't 'fit' into their classroom.

Chandler Has the probably the best music program in the valley and the best academic programs. My involvement is strong and i believe others agree that parents normally are involved. The IB program is the strongest program there is to offer. Chandler is more of an academic school, but sports are always a big deal.

This is a great school located in the middle of old chandler. Althought the neighbor hood that the school is located in is a little old the education that is given at the school is very good. The local police are good at keeping children at the school safe and if there is any accedents that happen they are quick to respond.

I'm a recent grad of Chandler High, and while I loved the majority of my teachers, I was extremely disappointed with the administration. From the security staff they hired to the policies they enacted, there seems to be a growing divide between the administration and the students. This was not my initial experience coming into the school, but with the change of leadership there was a change of philosophy. I warn any parent and student who will listen that you should walk on eggshells around them, and those who don't will find a very petty and vindictive office to deal with. The only sparkling review I have to give is to the teachers, of whom fought to keep education the number one priority both in the student's minds and the policies of the school. They're what make Chandler High the incredible school that is.

This is the best school I've ever attended. I spent two years at Chandler High and I regret not having spent the remainder of my four years there. Of course, it has its disadvantages and negative aspects, but overall, its one of the best! The teachers are amazing and the atmosphere is relatively comfortable. The diversity is partly what makes it such a great place for education. If anyone is thinking of sending their student there, its a great choice. The staff is absolutely awesome along with the security guards. The principal, Knutsen, seems a bit harsh at first but warms up to some degree. The extracurricular activities are almost endless and the majority of the students there are very accepting and make for a safe educational environment.

This school has a very diverse, enriching environment, very high curriculum standards and a very involved administration. I boundary-excepted my daughter from Hamilton for the academic quality as well as the diversity, and have never looked back! My sophomore has taken the PSAT, is active in 3 sports and currently has a 3.7 GPA. She was an average student that is now a college-bound honors student! We love Chandler High!

I am a Sophomore attending Chandler High and I think it is truly a great school. The teachers are wonderful and the fact that we have open campus lunch allows for a feeling of freedom for the students.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. GreatSchools' profiles currently show AIMS mathematics, reading and writing results. 2013 AIMS grade 10 results represent on-track 10th graders for the 2013 test year. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.

For high schools, AIMS results, AYP status and graduation/dropout rates are used. Schools are identified as Excelling, Highly Performing, Performing Plus, Performing, Underperforming, Failing to Meet Academic Standards or Pending.
