Special education program details Special Education services at Sonoran Schools are based on student needs, not categories of eligibility. This allows educators to share the responsibility of educating students with disabilities to achieve academic skills, while at the same time facilitating social and emotional development. English Language Learner program details Students in Structured English Immersion classrooms receive four hours of English language development each day. Students also receive academic instruction alongside their English proficient peers to accelerate their English language development. Students in content area classrooms (for example, English language arts, science, math) who are on Individual Language Learner Plans receive support in English language development directly from their content area teachers to accelerate proficiency.
