The Principal and the Teachers are very dedicated and compassionate about their work. They work very well with the parents to get the children back up to speed when ever they fall behind on they're school work. They are all very instrumental on the children's education. They are willing to put in the extra hours to help the kids learn what it is that they do not understand. I am very grateful for all that they do for our children. Thank-you very much.

Unsatisfactory is all I have to say about this school. Unless you want your child beaten up I wouldn't send them there.

This school has moved to 2020 N Arizona Avenue. It is still one of the top five charter schools as reported int the AZ Republic in 2010.

AZ Compass is a great school. We are treated as a family, we excel in AIMS, we our top in sports and we have a dance company. The teachers care and the administration is top notch!

This school has a great group of teachers and a principal who all really care about the students. However, there is not a good learning environment due to the administration's policy of not getting rid of any students, even students who continually disrupt classes and regularly insult the staff. The lower grades, 7-9, are extremely roudy in all classed, and very little teaching is able to be done due to ineffectual discipline by the owner. Students regularly complain about teachers, and this leads to a large turn over of teachers, while the disruptive students are kept in order to keep receiving state funds. I would not send my own children to this school, and would not recommend the school except for grades 10-12.

I am a student at AZ Compass Prep School(Skyline) and I just want to say I love this school! The students are nice, the teachers are amazing! In fact they feel like my family. The only bad thing about the school is that it is so wonderful at the end of the day I do not want to go home. This is such an improvement from my old school. I used to have F's and C's now I have A's and B's thanks to this school. This school has the spirit crew, vector dance company, visual arts, choir, athletics, NJHS(National Junior Honor Society), and more! I would recommend this school to anyone!

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.

For high schools, AIMS results, AYP status and graduation/dropout rates are used. Schools are identified as Excelling, Highly Performing, Performing Plus, Performing, Underperforming, Failing to Meet Academic Standards or Pending.
