Loved this school at first, but now with all the changes I am so sad and heartbroken to have to put my son in another school because they are moving. Not happy I thought I found a k-6 and they were even talking about building a junior high, but that is not the case...

This school started off wonderful for my son last year. He was happy and his teachers, both last year and this year, were wonderful. However, 2 teachers, including his teacher, left before Christmas break. I was very unhappy with how communication from the administration as to what their plans were to address issues and ensure a smooth transition for our kids. And additional changes were made to teaching and administrative staff, so much of what made the school wonderful is now gone. So many changes have been made that make this school much, much less than what was promised. It's so sad, too, because with the outstanding teachers that they once had, the school had the potential to be really great. I'm saddened for my son and his friends. Given all these changes, I no longer felt that this was a good environment for my child, and have moved him to a new school midyear.

We had to pull our son out right before Christmas break 2013 started. The school environment is currently unreliable due to recent major changes. There was a huge change in staffing- more than 1/2 of the teachers who started this school year are gone. Even the administrative staff is no longer the same. It is unclear who will be teaching the classes in January; and even more unclear as to what classes will be combined so a class can have enough students. I wouldn't want to further disrupt the last 6 months of the school year for my son- so we chose to switch schools with hopes that he will be in this new school for years to come.

FRLC started out as an ideal school for my son who's in 2nd grade. He was coming home happy and excited. He appeared appropriately challenged in class. Most importantly, when I volunteered, I saw how the kids treated each other- they were still kids...but there was a certain level of respect and kindness between each other. Then some staff changes occurred mid-year that were potentially disruptive to the children. Instead of the reassurance and guidance we hoped for from the founders/leaders of the school, we got chaos and disorganization. Our questions/concerns were not addressed accordingly. It got to the point where I had to do what I NEVER wanted to do to begin with- MOVE my son mid-year to a new school! The leadership was absent. No direction was given to parents who certainly didn't want to leave the school. No answers were given. So...here we are- mid-year. At a new school. FRLC had so much potential to be one of the best charter schools in our community. I wish the remaining staff and families the best. But it is no longer the ideal school for my children.

I am so sad to see what has happened to my children's' school. My son was doing wonderful. Then his teacher left mid year. The administration then combined two classes together. There were over 33 students in the class. Other changes have taken place in the school that don't align with what is promised on the tours. Please do your homework before coming to this school. I had to pull my son and daughter before Christmas break. I just can't trust this environment for my children.

The current school year started out wonderful for our "kiddos" but sadly has lost everything wonderful. Huge changes have been made- over half the staff and students will be gone for the new year, grade levels are being combined. I loved the front office staff and teachers are wonderful in their interactions with their students and parents, but the front office staff will no longer be the same people and some of the wonderful teachers are no longer going to be there. Before you decide this is the school for you please ask questions about staff turnover rates and how class sizes can go from max capacity to almost zero at the end of a semester. This could be an amazing school but for us it's not the right fit under the new leadership and changes to be implemented.

Parents thinking of sending their kids to this school should be made aware that alot of what is being advertised on the school web site is not available in particular the gifted program. The front office staff are very professional and friendly. This school started off with such energy in july 2012, but sadly has lost much of it's momento.

I really like this school. Cons: I do agree with the other parent about the hot lunch thing, kind of a pain! I also believe they would benefit from another body in the front office during their busy times. Sometimes it's really hectic and there's just not enough people to help with the mix. Pros: My kid is excited daily about school, and he loves his class and Teacher, and he's understanding the lessons. The pro outweighs the cons, it's the quality I wanted, and that is my bottom line. Not sure about the review from someone in April??? Classes started in August.. I wouldn't count on the credibility of a parent that doesn't think their kid is at a "real school" but keeps their kid in it for 9 months...

I find this school to be the perfect atmosphere for my children. The front office staff is always pleasant and helpful. I have never left with a question of education or safety. The teachers always greet me and my children with a smile and friendly greeting. My kids are happy to attend school, not worried about being bullied, and know they are welcomed to be who they truly are. The teachers genuinely care for each child and their growth and personal development. In my opinion, these teachers are very qualified and very educated. Fulton Ranch is truly a wonderful place and I am so happy has been established in Chandler.

My children are thriving at this school. They have wonderful, caring teachers, a wonderful Principal, small classrooms, and thriving extracurricular programs. They don't make the school focus on sports or clubs, as these are offered by the school by outside places, after school where they belong. And to the below comment, FRLC advertises everywhere that public charter schools receive $1725 less per student than a traditional public school. For the quality of service that they give my kids compared to a public school, I don't care that they ask for money for various projects. I m more upset that the State chooses to barely support my decision to not let my children attend a district school, and therefore punishes my children by not giving the school as much money so I have to pick up the tab. But besides that, to parents: If you pick this school, it's because of quality, and quality needs support to grow. You shouldn't come to a school that gives 150% if you aren't willing to give some back.

FRLC fosters a loving child-first environment that has been a true blessing for our children. It is a small school and we have appreciated the focused attention on our children where they are treated as more than a number. They have thrived socially and we are quite pleased with the social and emotional saftey of our children at this school. That said, we have not been without our share of road bumps. The lack of care during breaks is difficult for working parents and there is no lunch program. As the school grows they may provide these things but the small school atmosphere we love is likely to be lost. The school also required a supply list of $150 per child at the beginning of the year and has since continued to solicit additional funding for various projects- far more expensive than a typical public school. The classroom experience varies by teacher with some outstanding staff and some struggling. Classroom ratios are similar to surrounding public school classrooms & the gifted education program in NO WAY compares to that offered by the public school district. Overall, we have been satisfied with our experience but are cautiously optimistic as the school continues to grow.

Happy that FRLC has come to Chandler. Our child is being challenged in the areas that he needs to be and is being helped in the areas he struggles with. The low class sizes and PE daily helps him focus in and out of the classroom. Thank you for bring this education to us.

We are very disappointed in this school. Our kindergartener is very bored with the worksheets geared towards 3 yr olds. We have to do a LOT of supplementing at home. It's more like a daycare, having them color a large letter or identify the number 5. They've all been taught that for years now... the kids coming out of this school will be at a massive disadvantage

I wanted a school experience that encourages a love of learning and fun, where my son would not get lost among the masses, or have to be the loudest to be heard. FRLC is all about the individual, they encourage his love of writing and reading (hes in K but reading at 1st/2nd) . Plus they dont overwhelm him with ridiculous amounts of homework - he's 5 for goodness sake if hes going to go to Harvard, then he will, but he does not require an hour of homework every night at this age to get him there. This is the school you want to send your kids to if you want them to enjoy learning, sports and music and come home with smiles on their faces. Ms Gardner (K) is adored by all the kids and her enthusiasm is so inspiring. I am 100% happy with my final choice.

Fulton Ranch has been a great school for my family. We are excted about the focused education that both of our boys are now receiving. We are so blessed that they now are coming home with the excitement of learning.
