when we moved here we knew nothing about the school systems. After some research we found that KTA was the place we wanted to place our daughter. She has done nothing but thrive and succeed since attending. The curriculum is set up to help all children be successful. The staff and teachers are all amazing with communication. We are thrilled to be part of such an amazing school!

We have attended KTA since we heard it was changing into a Traditional School in 2012. We actually came back when the district announced it. My son recently graduated from 5th grade and I am very pleased with the education he received from Kindergarten-5th grade. He really excelled in Ms. Bertocchi's 2nd grade classroom, and there's been no stopping him since! They provide many oppourtunities for parent involvement, and build strong leadership skills in the students. I would recommend this school if you are looking for a structured, highly academic learning environment. Dr. Lescher is an amazing leader who makes students feel like KTA is their second home.

This is a great school. We have been with KTA Sureno for over 4 years. The teachers and administration do an amazing job with creating a very positive learning environment for the kids.

KTA is an excellent school. Having been at another elementary school in the area there is no comparison, KTA is the best. The teacher involvement, dedication, expertise and enthusiasm with the students is outstanding. The administration holds the bar high in a supportive and fair manner. The students have a great respectful attitude towards each other, staff, their school and the community. I highly recommend this school

As the Principal of Kyrene Traditional Academy, and as an educator for 33 years, I am extremely proud to be the leader of this amazing school! We are proud to be the ONLY National Blue Ribbon School in the Kyrene District. Our strong and dedicated faculty and staff strive to build positive and sustaining relationships with all students. Our students excel with our very successful instructional programs such as Spalding Phonics and Reading and Saxon Mathematics. As a Kyrene School, we have the benefit of all that Kyrene has to offer and in our design of instruction for students, have made the Kyrene Traditional model stronger than traditional models at other East Valley schools. Students learn in rigorous and structured settings while also having opportunities for problem-based learning, collaborative group projects and incredible citizenship and leadership building activities daily. Our Honor Society and Student Council provide opportunities for service projects and our PTO has many exciting events and activities planed in both educational and social areas. Our STEM program for our gifted students is the first of it's kind in Kyrene! We invite you to KTA for an amazing learning environment !

The school is full of cliques, both among the students and the parents. There are a few good teachers, but the school does not treat children with an even hand. Some children are obviously more valuable to the school than others based on their relationship to the administration through brown-nosing parents or higher test scores. The school very clearly weeds the ones they want from the ones they don't want. Unpleasant experience on every possible level.

Kyrene Traditional Academy was a great fit for our family. We moved our son to KTA from another Kyrene school as he was struggling in a number of areas. The accelerated learning, along with structure and high behavioral standards associated with the traditional model have helped him to be successful. In addition, what also stands out about KTA is the amazing community of supportive administration, staff, teachers, parents and PTO. We always felt supported and connected at KTA, as well as part of a truly a special school.

Good school. Too strict on kindergartners. Would like to see more open mindness when it comes to learning styles in the classroom.

Amount of homework: Agree

Four days a week homework is a policy in this school which includes math, writing and reading. I think this rigorous routine is setting them up for higher diligence and better work ethics in later life.
