After going to this school since kindergarten I believe that The Elementary School is a great and well staffed school, but, Toltec Middle School where I am currently at 4 days away from graduation. TMS is a little behind in academics but they have lots of other great programs. This school is extremely lacking on the little important things for students including,Bathroom Locks, Soap, Toilet Paper, Staff ( not enough teachers to adiquitly give students what they need. They have a great principal but the people below him are unqualified. I feel this quote greatly describes Toltec's Staff "Those who can't Teach"

I am in 8th grade and have been going sinc 5th. This school is poor... There is no locks on the bathroom stalls and bathrooms ared gross, barbeed wire fence around the school, the school looks like creap, The academics are behind. The disiplin is horible, the teachers will write you up for anything thinking you will change. if you are in a fight and you use self defnese you get in treated the same. This school is horrible and cant wait to get out!!

well i have mixed feelings on how to rate this school, my son is in special ed and his teacher in there is great, however his homeroom teacher spends too much time with the other kids, i still like the Evergreen School District in Vancouver WA better, but that is just my opinion

I believe this school is the best. yes there are parents who get mad about something but you know what you can not please everyone. And if someone is getting mad because thier child got kicked out for being bad then they are doing their job.

An incredibly dedicated and extremely cohesive teaching staff works long hours to provide the absolute best for all children. It's not easy at all, but the results speak for themselves.

In searching for a great place of education, certainly a parent would look for an active, involving school, with challenging academics, a safe atmosphere, and quality teachers. At Toltec, you can be assured of all of the above... but what really impressed me was a certain teacher that served as my daughter's Language Arts teacher in the eighth grade. As my daughter would come home, and I'd hear her ramble on and on about this 'Mrs. Ortega', I'd soon learn that we certainly weren't dealing with your average middle school teacher. Her teaching methods were untraditional, yet creatively effective, and her ability to connect with her students, not only as an educator, but also as friend, was absolutely amazing. I saw the transformation my daughter went through as a writer, and I definitely owe all the credit to this tremendously special teacher.

Our family loves Toltec Middle School. The teachers and staff really care about our children. I appreciate that as a parent!

I believe the communication between the school to the parents is non-existent. My child got a detention for not turning in homework and did not serve it. It got to the point of him not serving and it turned into a 2 day suspension. I was still not notified. My son had to end up telling me because he was now staying home. He is only 10 by the way. I called the school and was told 'We do not have the time or manpower to call every parent when a child gets in trouble.' I know that at other schools when a child is suspended the parent is contacted. This school is in a small community which I believe is the problem. Thanks to this years recent events we are looking to move to a city with people that are watching over our kids actually 'care'.

Principal states they care for the kids but there is no communication between the teachers, principal and the parents. How can they say they care about the child when one is failing and they don't try to help or let the parent know so we can help fix the problem. I don't understand this how hard is it to make a 5 minute phone call.

They need to do a lot of changing at this school. The teacher gosip is horible and should never be allowed by the princple. The policy for sports is really bad to. I am greatfull my child got out and can go to a school that cares about its students.

I think that Toltec has fallen well below state standards in quality of education and believe there needs to be changes made in teachers and administrators in order to reverse this. I hope that parent involvement grows to help with this situation.

About the tests
