We have been affiliated with Kinsey School since January of 2007. Our family moved from Phoenix to Flagstaff. As a 'worried' parent, I checked websites & phoned the school before we arrived to find out all I could about Kinsey. The principal spoke with me for 45 minutes. She told me about the teachers' & their dedication to a diverse population of children. I shared with her info about my son & asked for pointers to make his transition easier. She gave me tips, offering her personal phone number so we could arrange for a private tour of the shool during winter break-when we would be moving. My son had about six weeks of 'feeling' the transition. Then, often said he felt he had been at Kinsey all of his life. Downside has been FUSD gifted program. Services not started until December & only twice a month.

This elementary school has a positive atmosphere for your child. Our child is very advanced, and while the school had a difficult time providing him with an enriching education, his teacher was superb. Multiculturalism and community outreach are a strong part of the curriculum at Kinsey. The principal is very nice and makes himself available for support. Mrs. Roberts (1st grade) is highly recommended!

My twins attended Kinsey school one year and loved it! The school is a wonderfully diverse school. It is right by the University and has student teachers that come in for their internships. The curriculum was good with a good balance of arts and academics. The teachers and staff really cared about the kids. We hated to leave but had to relocate due to job changes. Kinsey really celebrated the cultural differences of the students. Exceptional school all around.

Kinsey is a great school! My twin daughters attended there and were very happy with their teachers. I love the diversity of the school and their attention to that diversity by the teachers. All children are treated very well and the one-on-one was very helpful to my dyslexic daughter.

I have a child who tested as 'gifted' in third grade. The TAG Program is minimal at best; one teacher is in charge of all Talented and Gifted Cirriculum plus his normal reading class...my daughter is not getting the stimulation she needs, although staff is trying hard to accomodate, a lack of funding makes providing TAG kids with appropriate stimulation and lessons impossible. I am, though, very impressed with the teachers my daugter has had since Kindergarten, and how they immediately noticed her need for testing and special classes due to her accelerated learning abilities...and all of her teachers have been wonderful people!!! :) Parents NEED to get more involved!!! Most PTO meetings have less than 6 parents!!!
