My wife and I were catapulted into parenthood when we took custody of my 4 year old niece in 2013. Overwhelmed with the responsibility of finding a good school, we visited Christ's Greenfield and immediately knew it was the right place for her. The staff and teachers treated our niece and us like family from day one and they continue to walk alongside us as we grow and struggle as parents. We love the way the teachers conduct their classrooms and teach biblical truths along with classic education. But more importantly, we love that our niece loves her teachers. She rarely wants to leave for the day without stopping to give a hug to Mrs. Garcia and her teacher from last year, Miss Gloss. I also must mention that as a part of a small business start-up we were not financially prepared to enroll our niece into Christ's Greenfield but wanted to do whatever it took to make it happen and the school was immediately responsive in discussing grants and tuition assistance. We honestly can't say enough about our experience at Christ's Greenfield and would strongly encourage anyone looking for a solid school to visit.

We have been attending CGLS for the past 5 years. We started in the preschool program and have continued on through the elementary school. I love the Christ-centered education and the small-school feel. Each teacher we've had has been amazing. They are encouraging, loving, and they not only know my child but our family as well. I love the extra-curricular activities, field trips, and parent-involvement that is welcomed and encouraged by the staff. I encourage you to tour the school!

CGLS exemplifies and in many ways personifies their core values of Christ, Community, and Quality. For 11 years, we've been able to count on CGLS to provide the very best education for our children, beginning in pre-school, while reinforcing the values that we teach at home. The school is at least a couple years ahead of the public school curriculum, and their test scores speak for themselves. The entire faculty and staff are committed to the success of the young people they influence daily, and it shows in the students' academic, athletic, personal, and importantly spiritual lives.

My son has gone to Christ's Greenfield since he was three. He has learned so much about God and Jesus and has always felt comfortable and welcome in the school. He is very social and knows everyone by name. He loves to learn and the challenge of the school work. He takes pride in all of his accomplishments academically and strives to do better everyday. He loves the teachers and feels very comfortable around them. We also go to Christ's Greenfield Lutheran Church and have been members for the past 11 years or more and love the community of our congregation. I would recommend this school and church to anyone.

We started with our oldest son in the preschool, and loved the school. We decided to keep him there for elementary school. We now have our 3 children in the elementary/middle school program. We have loved all of their teachers, the sense of community, fellowship with other families, and excellent education. The small class size gives our children wonderful individualized attention, and the opportunity to make great friendships with classmates. We highly recommend this school!

Thank you for taking the time to read this review. My boys have attended Christ's Greenfield Lutheran school since they were 3 and 4 years old. Both boys have attended school at CGLS in Kindergarten and I now have one in 1st grade and the other in 2nd grade. I will attempt to summarize the many facets which make this particular school stand out: The teachers: The teachers in this school ENJOY their jobs-- the teachers greet parents and students each day in as the children enter the classrooms-- this child-centered personal touch allows for a one on one greeting and allows parents to communicate with the teachers daily. My sons have had 4 teachers at the school- all have positive, welcoming attitudes, a desire to teach and a passion for working with students at all levels. Our school is a Christian school and the students learn about religion, ethics, how to treat one another, an understanding of what 'grace' means and how to take pause and give thanks. There are at least 7 elementary schools within a 5 mile drive from my home--- We choose to continue on at CGLS for the school values, community and the quality of education.

I'll start by saying, this could be a great school. Their strong suit is that they are Christ Centered (loved that); however, from our experience, there just wasn't any imagination or fun, just paper after paper, day after day! Plus, the school can't seem to make a decision on a principal; they have had an interim principal for at least 3 years - so no real leadership as he is just there part-time. And they do not encourage parent involvement. I really liked the school in "K" but they need to revamp their elementary program starting in first grade. There is no technology - no imagination used or needed by the kids, and definitely, no fun allowed!.

FANTASTIC JUNIOR HIGH! I have 2 kids who attend school at CGLS, one in preschool and one in 7th grade. We are nearing the end of our first year at this school and I cannot say enough what an awesome environment the teachers and staff create for their students. If you are a parent looking for a safe, warm, meaningful, gracious and fulfilling environment for your child then this is IT. Our daughter attended public school until 5th grade then went into the private sector after our frustration with our local schools. She spent 2 years in a private school that was highly academic. I felt she was missing out on the important things in life. Our entire household was troubled with endless hours of homework. No time for sports and family activities. We toured a few schools and were completely drawn to CGLS. Now in 7th grade she has flourished in all the activities, camaraderie, friendships found at this school. Christian based education has been such a gift to find. The eye rolls, sighs and door slams have (almost!) disappeared. The teachers really care that the kids understand the lessons. They always have the kids busy in projects of compassion. We love it so much we joined the church!

My children have attended Christ's Greenfield Lutheran School since preschool and have received a personalized, superior education. The preschool is NAEYC accredited joining only 1% of preschools in the state with this high accommodation. The elementary school provides a strong Christian foundation to its students, a family environment, and excellent academic success, with standardized test scores exceeding 90% of all schools across the country. I would strongly recommend Christ's Greenfield Lutheran school to any one looking for a new school to call home.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!! I had initially thought about homeschooling, and was very cautious about selecting a school for my children. Christ Greenfield has a terrific principal, faculty, teachers, staff and families! This school is absolutely wonderful!

I went to tour Christ's Greenfield Luteran School and it is fabulous! I was so impressed with the admin and staff. They are very nice, professional and organized. I enrolled both my boys (3 and 4) immediately. The school goes to 8th grade which is nice so they don't have to change schools after preschool. I would highly recommend this school so far. I have toured 10 schools and have been researching for 2 years; this is by far the best I've seen. For the first time I was 100% comfortable with the school itself, the staff and the safety of the school.

Christ's Greenfield Lutheran Preschool should be the first (and only) preschool you visit in Gilbert! My oldest son (now in 2nd grade) started preschool at age 3 1/2 at CGLP. I am a stay at home mom and never put him in any kind of child care - EVER! A friend of mine told me about the school. I dropped in unannounced and we were greeted with a smile and a tour on the spot. The teachers are amazing!! They are all loving, christian women who truly care about your child! You are always welcome in the class. I have never felt like this is child care but an introduction to a classroom, teacher, and other children. My 4 year old is currently enrolled in Pre-K there and he has the same teacher that my first child had! I have no doubt as to where my youngest will attend when she is old enough. Christ's Greenfield Lutheran Preschool is one of the few preschools that is NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accredited (www.naeyc.org/). Check out the schools website (preschool.cglschool.org/).

I have had 3 children go through the pre-school/pre-k program. They were very prepared to enter K. The teachers are loving, professional, experienced and caring. I cannot say enough about Mrs. Cox. She has a gift. I have never seen her in a bad mood. She is enthusiastic and just a great teacher. Her assistant, Ms. Carol, is equally wonderful. They sincerely like their jobs and show love to every child. They treat you like family (in a good way). The administration is always friendly and I have never felt like I was bothering them when I've phoned or just dropped in the office. The class size is just right and the curriculum is by far the best. I would highly recommend this school to everyone!! I am not Lutheran, but they make me want to be and we are considering a change.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
