I have had 3 students attend MJH as well as 2 other family members. It has had only 2 principals there and both have been outstanding. I had a child that was in need of a spanish class at the HS level and they help to set up her classes to make that work. Her first hour teacher understood her tardiness everyday to her class because she knew she was on a bus getting brought back from the HS. The Drama program is outstanding you would never know you were at a JH show. Well done MJH teachers and staff. My children have all loved going to MJH and the staff there are outstanding.

The faculty, staff, and administration is the greatest at Mesquite Junior High School. They truly care about the students and their success.

I have been pleased with almost all of the teachers (academic subjects). Parent involvement seems to be discouraged. I am not impressed by the principal or vice-principal but the vice principal is moving on to be a principal at another Gilbert elementary school. The junior high experience was dissapointing. They do a good job of moving you in and out before the start of school (buying gym clothes, getting a class schedule, collecting lunch money, etc.) This process at Greenfield Junior High is extremely disorganized.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
