My son had struggled his entire school career, barely passing each year. Sunburst was the only school that took the time to identify his learning disability and get him the services he needed. This is my son's 2nd year at Sunburst and he just brought home his report card and made the Honor Roll! MY son made the Honor Roll!! I'm so proud of him and love how excited he was to bring home his report card. I have the teachers and staff of Sunburst to thank for this amazing achievement. Thank you for caring so much about your students and instilling a love of learning in them, you've changed my son's life!

I have two grandchildren who attend this school. Both of my grandchildren love their teachers! I have been to many school programs and field trips. Very impressed with how the teachers all work well together and are so organized with the children. When visiting the school you must sign in and out thru the Front Office, I really like this for safety reasons!

I absolutely love Sunburst. I spent 7 yaers of my life there (K-6) and gratuated 2 years ago. I was in the gifted program since second grade and loved the teacher. We're still in touch. I love her so much. The faculty and adinistration is great- they still remember me. I love Mr. Elliott. He was my favorite teacher and I wish I could go back and thank him. He is the man who enstilled the meaning of respect, dilligence and character into me. He upheld high standards for his students and wanted you to succeed. So thank you, Mr. *Dude*. Sunurst is an amazing school and I will definitely be sending my kids there someday.

This is a great school. The teachers care about your child's educational progress. My kindergartener was reading by mid-school year. They also have a promising music program. My sixth grader loved playing in the band. I love the fact that there is someone on campus to greet the children as they arrive to school.

Great school with wonderful teachers and administration. Sunburst is a safe place for kids and I appreciate that the principal is visible around the school. He sets the tone and has high expectations for the students and staff. Great job Sunburst!

I would give this school a averag I think it is a great school if you have a problem free child but the office staff and the principal do not have the abilitys to deal with children with learning or behavior problems and they do not deal with parents well

I have 2 children that go to this school and one that goes to another school district. No comparison! The Sunburst administration and teachers are the best. The principal is visible and engaged with the teachers and students. He is outside speaking to parents, greeting students and making an impact on his school community. The teachers go all out to reach their students. This school is wonderful and if they were K-8, I would have moved my other child here without hestitation. Bravo.

When my kids started at sunburst I was very nervous since I was sending my oldest to a private school in a different state. I was so suprised that he was not up to speed with writing compared to the students of Sunburst. My kids have been going there for 4 yrs and I couldn't be happier! The teachers really put in alot of effort and work with you in any and every way that is needed. Any concerns I have had the staff has been there to help. I couldn't have asked for a better school!

I have 2 students that I drive 30 minutes each way to attend Sunburst. We are very happy with this school. It is far superior to the school in the district we live in. I am very thankful that we were able to continue taking our children to Sunburst after moving out of district!

I have 2 children currently enrolled at Sunburst, and who have attended for the last 3 years. I am very pleased with the quality of education and awareness of safety issues. My children love going to Sunburst, and I have been very happy with the teachers they have had each year. My only concern really centers on whether my oldest child is being challenged enough in his class; but I believe this is an issue with any school. I understand that teachers have to teach to the class as a whole, and of course focus on concepts that perhaps other students are not understanding. My hope is that next year he may qualify for the project potential program that Sunburst offers, for accelerated classes. But all in all, I am very pleased with the education both of my children are receiving!

I have 2 children in this school and the teacher's are just wonderful, they are there to teach because they want to and because they care...the curriculum is great, the effort to involve the parents is awesome, the positive attitudes and enthusiasm from the kids, the teachers, and rest of the staff is just amazing

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. GreatSchools' profiles currently show AIMS mathematics, reading and writing results. 2013 AIMS grade 10 results represent on-track 10th graders for the 2013 test year. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
