Students that attend GHS face rigorous expectations that helps them grow quickly into young, responsible adults ready to impact our future and our society. Not only do we push students for success, but many time students that attend GHS are coming from failing elementary and middle schools which means they enter GHS behind the curve. Teachers and staff work hard and help students power through the curve so they leave well beyond the expectations of most high schools.

Glendale High School has an amazing student population. These kids are friendly and caring. They want to better their lives. The teachers care about each student's success, and many opportunities are available for extra help or tutoring. We are family! I am blessed to work at a school with enthusiastic supportive administrators who truly love their jobs and their school.

It's been said about the Cardinal bird that they have a rare combination of good qualities, brilliant plumage, a rich and pleasing voice, beneficial habits, and devotion to family. The Cardinals of Glendale High School -- be they teacher, student, administration, or support staff -- definitely exudes and exceeds those qualities! Bird of a feather roost together here!

Glendale is one of the most amazing schools in the area because of what it does for its students with the resources it has. Also how much the teachers, staff and administration care. It really shows in everything from how well kept the school is to how the classrooms look to the curriculum to how involved everyone (students to faculty) is in the school. We are a community within a community. It's awesome. Our student succeed because we care and it shows.

I love Glendale High School. The students are some of the most caring kids I know. A lot of them don't have much, but when we have a canned food drive, or clothing drive, our kids are right there, donating and helping out. The staff is just as caring. I can't imagine working anywhere else.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. GreatSchools' profiles currently show AIMS mathematics, reading and writing results. 2013 AIMS grade 10 results represent on-track 10th graders for the 2013 test year. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
