I don't know what all the complaining is about, but I have three children enrolled here currently, and I have had no problems. My oldest son has even excelled this year by being voted in for student council; which he would have never done at our previous school. The office staff have been super helpful and friendly; income basing has nothing to do with it. The teachers make sure my kids inform us of their progress and homework daily. I would highly recommend this school!

We took my son out of Marshall ranch due to the fact that the office staff and principals have no respect for the ordinary student or parent. I had a few minor problems I brought forward but they were never taken seriously or discussed with me. My son's teacher was friendly and helpful, but the deputy principal comes across as aggressive and rude. The principal is controlled by the deputy principal who runs the show. The one front office lady seems to single out who she wants to be nice to and who she will talk to in an abrupt manner. My son's new school is so much different with a friendly and happy principal and office staff. Everybody is treated with respect, nobody is singled out and the obvious results are happy parents and students!

This is a absolutely TERRIBLE school. First of all my daughter was bullied and nothing was done. When I asked for a meeting the deputy and principal treated me like I was the bully. The other problem I have with his school is that they have favorites. Their year book is full of pictures of the popular kids only. If you have lots of money they will be nice to you but if you are moderately poor they treat you like dirt. The front desk staff are rude. If you are a "popular" mom or child they go out of their way but if you are one of the ordinary they disregard you or ignore you or they speak to you like you are beneath them.

My oldest son just finished his 8th grade year, and this school saved his life. He was extremely bullied at his last school, and nothing was done about it. Here the junior high teachers are amazing, and administration is very involved. Truly an awesome school.

This is my son's 1st year at this school, and to say the least I'm not really all that impressed... my son has social issues which I'm trying to get him help for, but I'm having difficulty with the school in helping with this situation. They don't offer counseling at the school, & have one counselor for 3 schools. No gifted program (which my son qualified for at his last school), and no before or after school program, which is disappointing. The 1st grade teacher is nothing but determined my child is ADHD and needs to be caffeinated. I took him to a psychologist who indicated w/his professional opinion that my son does't have ADD, or any variation. He is marked for every little thing (hello, 7-year-olds will kick a rock occasionally). I'm not saying my son is a perfect angel, but I don't feel his teacher is the right person to fit his emotional needs. She focuses way too much on the negative, & not enough on the positive. My child doesn't enjoy school. He does well academically, but they treat kids like they're supposed to learn like robots, and not have personalities. The school principal refuses to change teachers and say his is the best, yet I haven't seen positive results.

I have three children at this school, a set of twins in 1st grade and a 3rd grader. My oldest started at the school in 1st grade and the only issue we've had so far is a bullying incident when she was in the 1st grade. Her teachers (Ogino, Wallender and Zambrano) have all been wonderful. One of the twins has had the same teacher (Flosi) for K and 1st (the teacher looped) and we love her...she really cares about her students and she's been a huge support to my girl. Her twin had Mrs. Eberhardt for K and she was wonderful also, the twins were struggling in K (it was their first yr. in school) and Miss Flosi and Mrs. Eberhardt worked together and with my husband and myself in order to get them up to par. All of their effort and hard work was greatly appreciated. This year for 1st grade the twin has Mrs. Hoefer and I will have to say that I'm not at all impressed! My daughter is having some issues and I don't feel like she's getting any support from the teacher, we've asked for help/advice/extra work and we get no response from the teacher. We've hired a tutor for her and she seems to be improving which is a plus. I just wish the teacher would have offered help!!

I have two children that have attended MR for the last 3 years and they absolutely love it! The staff is very friendly and very accommodating to all of our needs. MR definitely stands by their word with everything they do. They know my children by name and face, as they do with most kids in school.. they have a great relationship with all the students and their families. MR hosts many family functions throughout the year, which I really like. One of my daughters has ADHD and a speech impedement and her teacher is very accommodating. She is very patient with my daughter, helps her so much and keeps me informed on a regular basis. I couldn't ask for a better school and I highly recommend this school to anyone and everyone.

My granddaughter (who is also my ward)attends Marshall Ranch. The 1st semester of Second grade has not been the wonderful experience she had in grades K and 1. I believe that part of the problem is that the 3rd second grade teacher was released and the classes consolidated. Being a former educator myself, I well understand how much better the students can learn in smaller classes. I still feel that Marshall Ranch is a high quality school, but just wish the class sizes were smaller.

This is a wonderful school. The staff is caring and knows my children by name. The education is far surperior to the education that my children were receiving in a Phoenx School district school. A++ to all the staff teachers and school administrative team for a job well done.

Marshall ranch is an excellent school. I have attended it for five years and I will be graduating this year, and I could not have chosen a better school to attend. the teachers, are great. many of them are easy to relate to, and have a sense of humor, which definately makes school a more welcome experiance. this school, is based off of the students needs, so in several grades it offers excelled classes for the advanced and tutoring for those that struggle.

I have been attending Marshall Ranch for five years now. This year I will be graduating. Overall, I have found it to be the best elementary school I could have attended. Some of the teachers were strict, sure, but in the end they only had your well-being in mind. many of the teachers are young, so they can relate very well, especially with the older kids which makes school a more welcome experience. I am really glad that I have gotten to attend MR, and I would definately reccomend any parents, that have the choice, place their children in this school.

I have 2 children attending Marshall Ranch. As with any school. It's the teacher that makes it all happen. Unfortunately at Marshall Ranch it's hit and miss. Both of my kids have mild special needs - one in the speech program and the other with severe ADHD. They do a terrible job accomodating these types of situations. I feel zero support for the situations. The administration is competent, but they staunchly defend every staff member... nice, but what about putting the children first? I have seen teachers be flat out wrong and act in an unprofessional manner, with a completely uncaring attitude and the administration stands by them. Overall, we are dissatisfied with Marshall Ranch administration but the desire to have our kids attend their own community school is enough to make us continue with the frustration.

I went to Marshall Ranch and recently graduated. This was by far the best elementary school in the district. When I heard things about the other schools from their students, I realize how lucky I was and what a great experience the staff and teachers gave me. I loved every single one of my teachers and enjoyed my 8 years I spent there. I loved Marshall Ranch!

I think Marshall Ranch is a super school. They really balance academics with character-building. The environment seems positive. Mr. Johnson who has been principal since the school opened is retiring this year but Mrs. Lundberg appears to be very capable.

My son has attended this school for over 2 years and I'm very unhappy with the way the nurse handles things, the way a child is disiplined over and over again for the same thing, the safety of all children in the school. This next year my son will be attending another school due to lack of respect fot the children and safety. I do not recommend this school even though they were a a+ school on 2000, what happened in the mean time, they went down hill!

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Arizona used the Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) to test students in reading and mathematics in grades 3 through 8 and 10, writing in grades 5, 6, 7, and 10, and in science in grades 4, 8 and 10. GreatSchools' profiles currently show AIMS mathematics, reading and writing results. 2013 AIMS grade 10 results represent on-track 10th graders for the 2013 test year. AIMS is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students have mastered Arizona learning standards. Students must pass the grade 10 AIMS in order to graduate. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards on the test.
