My son began Kindergarten this year and we started at Legacy. The school was new so we expected a little organization. They were ridiculously unorganized. It took a week to get a pick up sign because they lost the first one. Every morning I was late to work because I had to keep waiting in the office to be told they'd "for sure" have the sign "tomorrow." My sons teacher was terrible. She never let on that he was having any problems until one day in passing she told me she would begin writing him up. No notice at all about why. When I emailed her to find out why she wouldn't tell me via email&would schedule times to talk over the phone, but not within a good time frame. Very stressful not to know whats going on, just that she would begin writing him up. I even emailed the school about my issues and they were no help at all. They had way too much homework. When my son would ask his teacher questions, he told me she would tell him to "zip it." In 1 weekend I moved my son to Eagle Prep. Where his teacher cared enough to talk to me about concerns. With her help, we had my son a straight A student with absolutely no behavioral issues. Legacy take note THAT is how a teacher should be.

My children are enrolled at the Legacy Laveen campus and I couldn't be happier. I have never met teachers who are so involved and caring. My youngest was struggling at the beginning of the school year but now with the help from tutoring and the positive attitudes from her teachers she is picking up her grades & keeping up with her class. I am amazed at the things she learns everyday.. Yes they do get 3-4 pages of homework but it is an excelling program so that is to be expected. The new principal has a better open door policy and responds to calls & emails with follow through. The staff is nice & shows respect to me & my children :) I am happy that an ASDE A+ school had joined Laveen community

A great school has strong leaders and teachers, but when they are consistently leaving the Legacy Family, it hurts the students and school as a whole. Legacy has had many great staff members leave this year. I have 3 children attending, and unfortunately have made the decision to withdraw them as soon as possible. My daughter was receiving help to improve her grades when the principal left, and left my daughter's situation in mid process. Now I have to begin all over with the new principal to get her the help she needs. Other than that, if you are ready to have your children do a little extra hard work and meet the challenges of an accelerated curriculum and pace, along with changes in faculty, it's a good school. Great PTO. No free / reduced meal program here :( Also free tutoring for those who need it before or after school.

Worst decision I have made is putting my children in this school. There is no school support if your child is having difficulty keeping up, my first grader is unable to keep up with the 30 spelling words they receive a week among the 100 math problems they receive every day and that doesn't include the other 3-4 pages of other homework they receive every night. When meet with the principal I was told "even though we want our kids to go to a certain school doesn't always mean that is the school for them". It seems to me this school only wants the best of the best and if your child is not the top of the class then oh well. I've withdrawn one of my kids but unfortunately I can not take my other child out because there are no opening at my eldest child's school. I had great hopes when I chose this school and so far it's been a big disappointment I pray I can move my other daughter as soon as possible.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!Excessive bullying that is not addressed by the school staff what so ever. Never heard so many horror stories by my children and another relatives child that attends. I have brought it to the attention of some school officials on site and no one seemed to have a clue about anything that goes on at the playground. Withdrawing my children as quickly as possible!
