I really love this school and miss it so much. I'm in high school now and I just wish I could return to Stapley. The activities they had like Survivor and homeroom teams were always so much fun and made you feel so involved with the other students. The electives offered were so diverse and you could find anything you enjoyed. I also loved how they had frozen yogurt for sale on thursday and the saber store on friday haha. Aside from the fun things, I felt confident in my teachers while I was there and really felt like I learned everything I needed to know. Some of the teachers weren't just good they were really outstanding and I thank them for preparing me for the difficult years of high school. They made even the boring general classes fun and enjoyable to go to. Stapley is just a great, great school.
Stapley Junior High is honestly the worst school I've ever gone to. While the students appear welcoming, if they ever find out that you're not a Mormon or if you're afflicted with a disability of any sort you will be completely shunned. The second my peers found out that I'm in special ed over some underlying issues they decided that it would be a good idea to harass me. There is also quite a lot of racism in this school, and I've seen a couple of black students get antagonized by others over their skin color. I was bullied constantly and in turn this caused my grades to suffer horribly. In all honesty, the day I moved away from this school was one of the best days of my life. -Jon' K
Stapley is an amazing school, I should know, I'm a student there. We, as students, are kind and caring, we have a low bullying percentage and pride ourselves to achieve our best. The teachers are amazing and great, they teach at the rate the students need, and the advanced classes have helped me so much.
Fabulous school. I went here a couple years and loved it. Stapley has amazing teachers who truly care about the students and are willing to do almost anything for them to exceed! Stapley has a great environment with great kids and they have amazing performing arts programs (since I've left, the drama/stagecrew teacher has changed and also the orchestra one, but I've heard it's still really good). The current drama/stagecrew teacher was also my English teacher while I attended Stapley, so I know her class is great. She's full of energy and really makes learning fun. Stapley's the best school I've been to and I still miss it every day.
i am a current attendee and it is my first year here. It is so wonderful and so easy to become part of the school. It offers many different ways to bond with each other so that we hardly ever have fights, or violence.
We moved our daughter here from the Higly School district and wow what a tremendous difference for the better. I shutter at the thought if we had left her with the Higly School district. I have to wonder if the parents in that school district realize their children are not getting an education at all. That is what our daughter would have had if she stayed there. No education and would not have been prepared for High School or College. We have been impressed with the schools sports, beahvior, acadmics, and music programs. Parent involvement is high and the teachers are incredible. What a neat website they have set up as well. There could not be a better place for children to attend Junior High. I see why they got the A+ award a year ago. It is an A+ school.
I have children who attend Stapley as well as Hendrix Jr. High (another Mesa Public Middle School). The education and experience between the two schools is incredible. The agenda of the staff at Stapley is clearly to ensure that the students excel in music, sports, behavior and acadmics. There is high parent involvement which contributes to the sucess of the school.
Stapley was the best school I could ever dream of going to. Though it is located in the Mormon community and I am not mormon and I am asian, I found that I didn't get excluded for my religion. All of my wonderful friends are mormon and I have never felt excluded. The school has a elective for every intrest from sports to drama to technology. Though it is not very diverse and the main nationalities are White and Hispanic, I was glad that I felt different from being Asian and many teachers did teach us about diversity. In fact a special teacher came and taught the students about diversity and peer pressure. I am glad that I got to go to Stapley but I had to move after my first year. I would recommend this school to anyone that is looking for a school that provides wonderful learning and fun!
My son is African-American and has attended Stapley for all three years of junior high and the education is second to none. I do agree somewhat with earlier comments concerning the Mormon community that is prevalent in many neighborhoods of Northeast Mesa. I wouldn't go as far as to say my son is an outcast. He has a very good rapport with kids of many races and religious affiliations. He's taking full advantage of the top of the line education and athletic exposure - both of which should set him up well for high school, college and beyond.
Stapley Junior High School's teachers and their ability to teach and reach out to the students is wonderful, and being a current student I would know, but what I realized at my three years at stapley is there is no diversity at all, and the students and staff discriminate different religions, and don't include every student There is a closely tight knit religion and if your not 'the religion' than you are branded an outcast for life. The extracurricular activities are great but once again, if you aren't a specific religion for specific teams, you aren't chosen. I found it extremely difficult at my stay at stapley and I would not recommend it.
Stapley is a dream school for students. There is somethng there for everyone, and the facility and equipment are modern and state-of-the-art. The have superb programs in music, drama, athletics, photography, Video Journalism, as well as many others. The academic standards are high, but not unreachable. There is very seldom discipline problems, and the few there are,are minor.
