This was our 1st year and I was very impressed with the kind staff, friendlyness of all the teachers. My children have learned alot by the style of this teaching, this school really cares about the kids and what they are being taught. I'm looking forward to returning again next year & the years to come.
my children came to the district four years ago and I have been very saisfied with their education overall as well as class size. I enjoy the small town tocuch as well as the atmosphere
I was satisfied with my son's education in Buckeye but when we moved him into Palo Verde, wow!!!! PV has definitely gone above and beyond in meeting his needs. They have embraced him and made this a learning community as opposed to just an educational environment. We are 100% satisfied, and then some. If you do not like a small town school, where things are 'old fashioned,' where they all know your name, where there is a real Christmas program, where there are more parents involved, then you may want to go elsewhere. But if you like all this, you'll be happy with Palo Verde.
We are most impressed with this school and what the school provides for our child. The principle is involved with the students, and the academics provided are above average compared to other schools. Considering the school population both AIMS and Terra Nova scores appear to be above average in comparison to schools with much higher school populations and less diversity. We understand that a music departemnt will be added where in many other schools those programs are being cut. Let's give Palo Verde Elementary School a big hand!
I have 3 children that attend this school and I have found the teachers to be very caring and involved. This school's emphasis is on student achievement and the staff works hard to encourage all the students.
I have 2 kids in this school, & I'm not impressed with it overall. There is a huge, OBVIOUS gap between the 'favorites' & the rest of the kids, the favorites being the kids from families that have been going to this school for years. I've been lucky so far with getting the few GREAT teachers here; unfortunately there are a few 'revolving' grades that can't keep teachers for more than 1 school year. The principal is easily swayed & is not fair to all students -- there are too many people working at this school who act as if this is the last place they want to be, & unfortunately it shows when they interact with the students. The lack of parent involvement, & music/art, has a negative impact on the kids & the teachers alike. As it grows, I hope it will improve but it hasn't happened yet!
Palo Verde is an overall great School. It has good academic programs, and good sports programs. One area they could improve on is having a music program. Also, the parent involvement is very good. A little side note, Palo Verde has had 2 teachers, that were named Arizona Teacher of the Year. Impressive for such a small school.
Overall this is a great school. It is a smaal rural school that is growing. We have a great Superintendent. A great Principal(who was an excellent teacher, we hated to see him move up because he was such a great teacher). If there was any complants it would be that there is no pre-school at this time. One of our third grade teachers is not very strong and keeps the kids moving as fast as they had been in previous years. Our technology needs to be improved and added to.
