Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

We just started yet another year at Oasis and we just love this school. We have been at this school for the last three years and my whole family just loves this school. I have children in grades 2-7th and they have been supported by the staff and administration. They look forward to school every year and this year is no exception. My experience with the administration and the principal has been wonderful. She is very caring and has made a difference for my children at this school. I see her out front in the morning greeting children and in the cafeteria at lunch. We have received monthly communication from the school through text messengers, the school messenger and through the Facebook. The school website lists current events which I also check. I know that site council meetings were held each month last year throughout the year. I plan on becoming more involved and will be joining PTSO as well as site council. I would encourage everyone to join as well. I look forward to another great year.

I wish to add to my previous comment that: The fact that parents are making so many negative comments recently also shows the lack of confidence they feel that they will be heard in person. One only need to read the glowing posts from years past to understand how badly Oasis has fallen. I was not a fan of the former principal, & saw him as a 'glad handler' but I've been disappointed in the current principal because I thought she was someone who would improve Oasis. I will commend the current PTSO in their attempts to include more parents however I feel there is still a 'clique' in place. Again the current issues with Oasis are a serious lack of communication & accountability. This past year; no 'robo calls' from the principal, ONE Parent Site Counsel Meeting (& then only at the end of the year), & no emails home. Kids are being held to standard of behavior that I don't see teachers being held to. If my child wasn't going into 8th grade I'd seriously think about changing schools.

Oasis has gone really downhill over the years. Ever since they got a new principal this school has been crazy. My daughter told me kids are being suspended and one even expelled for no reason. I am definitely moving my kids from schools next year and good thing my oldest is going to high school next year. I am really disappointed in this school now and especially hate the new gates. It isn't a jail!!

OASIS has really gone down. I have had 3 kids go there since K-G and my other child is now in morning K-G. I swear it seems like they never ever keep this teacher informed of anything going on at the school. If it wasnt for my other child going there I would never know whats going on. I dont know what has happend to this school but they are very un organized. I also do not like the new gates they are putting up it makes our school look like a jail! Are kids should not have to be so gated in! I'm seriously thinking of changing my last 2 kids schools next year.

I have had children attending Oasis since 1998. Since the current Principal took over this school has gone to heck in a hand basket. She has run most of the quality teachers out of the school or into retirement. This Principle is out of control. She is suspending kids for actions that normally would deserve a detention and giving detentions for actions I personally feel are typical child behaviors (like forgetting homework). I hate to pull my little one out in the middle of a school year but it may need to happen. I don't think he can survive another year of substandard education under this woman's rein.

Some of the teachers refuse to work with struggling students before and/or after school. As a teacher myself, I find this to be disappointing. I currently have two children attending Oasis. They seem to like the overall school, but they also tell me how some of their teachers go on Facebook and ESPN during classes. I am also extremely disappointed with the school cafeteria. My children refuse to eat the lunch there. The one time in my entire life that I bounced a check, I was immediately sent to collections. (I had accidently grabbed my old checkbook. I understand it was my fault; however, I still can't believe no one called or mailed me to let me clear it up.) I even went down to the district office to try to remedy the situation with the internal auditor, but that was not helpful either. Quite honestly, had I not purchased a house in the neighborhood, I would have moved due to the school. I am hoping things will change soon. I am also disappointed that there isn't a full-day kindergarten program. For this reason, I may enroll my youngest into another district.

M This school has become so unorganized and undisciplined since the new principal has been there. She has no control, don't know how she got the job. We are so disappointed in the education our children have received. Our son has struggled in math. We tried to get him help. The teachers response was there was nothing they could do, they said we should seek help elsewhere. We will be looking for a new school for next year.

Since the principals have changed I am disappointed in the school. I have tried to be informed and involved with my son's teacher and have had promises but no follow through. We will be going to a different school next year.

I researched many schools, private and public, before deciding on Oasis and I have not been disappointed. One of my children attended 7-8 and was in accelerated math and reading and I believe her success in HS and now college is due to her love of school inspired at Oasis by the teachers, staff and community as well as quality education. My youngest has been at Oasis K-5 so far and struggles with academics but has received tutoring and patience from the teachers while being encouraging. She scores well on tests despite her unenthusiastic lack of desire to learn, which proves to me the teachers know what they are doing. I've seen the principal at every after school function-he is very involved in the students. A mom at Sun Valley told me their school went down hill after he moved to Oasis; a testamant to his ability lead.

We only lived in AZ one year, while my husband was attending Grad school, but my girls LOVED Oasis. I had a kindergartener and a second grader. It really was a great school. I loved both of their teachers and I had fun getting involved in classroom activities and helping the teachers. They don't seem to stress parent involvement like some of the other schools my kids have attended, but they did make it clear that you were always welcome in the classroom. My girls made great friends and we loved the area. They both cried when they found out we were moving, and they wouldn't be able to go to Oasis this year.

Oasis is the best school I have ever seen. From the teachers to the principal, they all work as a team. The principal even serves lunch and seems to know all the kids names. The teachers are so caring. Last week I recieved a call from the principal to thank me for sending "such a fine student". I've heard he makes such calls every Friday. What a great way to start the weekend. We have a third grader and a seventh grader and both love going to school everyday. I believe it is because of the teachers care so much. The place is safe and clean. I was surprised to learn the building is 20 years old. It looks so new. I am glad we moved here.

I'm sorry to hear that the last parent didn't like Oasis. I've been here for 5 years now and have only found caring teachers and staff members. They have supported my children and myself if I have had concerns about anything. I got involved right away in the PTSO because I wanted to make a difference. We changed our meetings again this year to 6pm but haven't seen a big change in parent attendance. Each year we struggle to fill the positions on the board and we have to talk our friends into joining the PTSO. We would love for our parents to apply for positions so we could actually have a ballot with voting but it hasn't happened since we've been here. I have been thrilled with the education my children have been receiving.

Oasis Elementary is outstanding school. All the staff and parents work well together. I have put through two children of my own and many other students that I have taught in my preschool.

Considering the fact that I have driven 38 miles a day for the past 3 years to allow my son to continue at Oasis (we left the district), I give this school a rating of 10!

Oasis is a great school. It is the perfect place for kids. It has outstanding programs for all of the grade levels. The principal is everywhere. Every student seems to know him. My son comes home every day with something positive to say about his teacher or his principal. I give Oasis my highest rating.

My son's year here in kindergarten was wonderful. Mrs. Webb was patient, objective and really took her time to find the children's strengths and weaknesses. She was also great about involving the parents in the classroom whenever possible. His second year was not quite as good. Ms. Young was pleasant, but I felt she was a bit scattered. Overall, I think Oasis is a very good school. I especially see that now that we are out of that district and in the Dysart district.

Oasis Elementary is a great school. The teachers and staff are friendly and helpful with whatever need may arise. They provide electronic gradebooks for the parents to see where their kids are at grade wise and will usually email the parent if the child is slipping outside of the norm of their past history. My kids love it there and that is the best part.

Both of my children have had great experiences at oasis. Mrs. Balthis (3rd grade) is the best teacher we have ever come across. She is so understanding and helpful with every student no matter what their needs are. My children absolutely love school and have scored extremely high academically. The work is challenging yet not overwelming for the students.

Our move to the Oasis neighborhood was the best one we could have ever made for our children. The teachers are very understanding and helpful. The office staff is very informative on any questions or concerns a parent needs help with. We moved into the area in Sept. '03 just after the school year got started, the teachers wasted no time in getting my children up to speed on the happenings in the classroom. They also provided the support our children needed when moving into a new school, by the end of the year both of our children had grown in the academic as well as their social skills. Thanks Mrs. Campbell (5th) and Mrs. Thalacker (6th)!!!

Overall, the staff at Oasis has been wonderful for our children. I do not feel that the curent principal provides adequate leadership for the staff and community. The former assistant principal was definitely the 'go to' person if you had a concern!

My child attended Oasis Elementary for 1st grade with MS. Young. MS. Young proved to be an excellent instructor for my child. My child's learning and social skills improved drastically, where they had been lax before. MS. Young brought out the best in my daughter. She was crying the last day of school, when she realized that she would not have the same instructor. My daughter is anxiously waiting the start of 2nd grade with Mrs. White, so she can 'keep learning amazing new things', as my daughter put it. The only negative thing I would have to say is that they would offer an after school extra-curricular programs for children that are younger in Art, music, science and reading.
