Wonderful, caring staff with small class sizes. Each student will benefit with more one on one attention from teachers. Great school!!!
Mi opinion sobre esta escuela es de que los maestros y personal educativo soy muy amables tanto con los padres de familia como con los alumnos,
PACS is a caring community of professionals doing their best to benefit students. There is a fairly diverse student population working together to strive for success. The new sports programs are an excellent addition to the school climate. The theatre program offers a uniqe opportunity for students to find a love for performance and to utilize their creative and public speaking talents. The Paragon curriculum offers a contiued emphasis on the humaities and history that is so often lacking, as other schools cut programs to focus only on reading and math. Though there is always room for improvement, the staff is working hard to see that everything is done to ensure that each student has a positve and productive educational experience here at PACS.
Phoenix Advantage Charter School proves they are determined to be instrumental in providing the pathway to have all children reach their highest potential. They do not just hope for higher test scores, they are proactive in reaching their goals because they know how important it is for the students to do well as they pursue higher academic interests. ' The students learn a wide spread of fascinating historical themes through Paragon, and the kids love it. They are getting an intense education that not many schools in Phoenix offer.
My daughter is on her second year here! Happily on the Principals list for straight A's. The school is wonderful. The new principal is caring and is going to take the school to the next level!! I highly recommend the school!
I Personally really like this school . I Think teachers here really give the students the attention they need , but some students just don't know how to appreciate it and instead they decide to just play around . The 8th & 7th grade teachers that were there throughout the class of 2010-2011 are amazing ! Too bad they moved from that school , but they actually cared for their students , and wanted them to succeed . And the trip they made to Washington DC is what I really liked the most because the 8th grade Students had the opportunity to learn more about history . Honestly the only thing I think is wrong with the school is the Principal he's really not all that involved with the students , &he always seems to be in such a bad mood , Also some staff members that are really rude , and they really don't know how to be more kind to the students &parents , other than that I really like this school , and I would recommend it .
I would not recommend this school to anyone, especially if your student is at a highter ability level. This school is great for ESL students or low ability level students who need extra help. Students are not stimulated enough. The six grade teachers are great and do their best to accomodate all learning abilities. However, with such a limited curriculum and all the stuff put on their shoulders they shouldn't have to take time away from their personal time to make accomodations for all the students, when those accomodations should already be available within their curriculum for the students. In addition, what will those accomodations change if they don't even do the work that is given to them much less turn it in for a grade. Parents at this school are not very hands on and when they see their students grades, they are seriously stunned to see that their child is failing or nor doing so well in certain subjects. They blame the teachers however, when do we as parents take responsibility and say, wheres your homework? You know the consequences for having bad grades...etx. However, these kids don't have any consequences at home nor at school.
Since they brought in the new principal 3 years ago, test scores have plummeted. I think that speaks for itself.
DON'T BRING your children there!!!!!!! i went there for 7 years (kinder - 6th) me and my cousin we the ONLY smart ones. unfortunately we were the ONLY ones that were bored. and that was because we were the only ones to get the work done faster and correctly!! PACS is NOT EVEN a performing school!!! The only good teacher there is Ms. Weisberg!! DO NOT GO TO PACS!!!
DON'T bring your children to this school ! My granddaugher went there for 6th grade the teacher never gave them any homework, he said" why they never turn it in." Some of the front office staff are rude and treat you like your crazy. Mr Burns and Mr Rowe have no idea how to run a school. If there's a problem they try to run and hide from you. You'll save your self a lot of headaches by not taking your kids here!! The food they feed the kids for lunch is below standards if you want them to eat burrito's and pizza everyday. The parking to pick your kids up is down right ridiculous if you want to stay in line till every kid gets out of school. The before and after program is the only good thing about this school !!!
I have had my student at this school, he has done great and I have also had my friends kids come here the ones that have moved from 8th grade had all gone to honors classes in high school, I guess it depends on the student if they want to learn they learn if they just come to school to play and dont have the support from the parent at home to be hard on them and make sure they know that school comes first. I really like this school granted it has gone thru some changes and yes this principal may not be as social
Teachers have no control over kids, admin has no clue how to handle discipline.
My son went for first grade at this school and have Ms. Medina as his teacher, He had a wonderful year. I move him to another charter school he went there for 4 years. Then that school make changes that I as a parent did not agree so I move him back to PACS, this was a big mistake, somebody said; ' theacher don't have control of the students' that is so true. The teacher there are not in love in what they do. My son was not challenge enought, he was wore all the time...
Unfortunately my daughter didn't have Mrs. Kleinman but for only a few days. She was great but the school overall couldn't cut it. I recently pulled my daughters due to the constant problems with the school. I refuse to have my girls in this environment. We found a much better and more disciplined school that will prepare my girls for their futures. I wouldn't refer any of my friends or family members to this school. The new principal has his work cut out for him.
Safety and discipline, two important words that this school doesn't care about. My daughter has seen fights and drugs at Phoenix Advantage. Its a disadvantage to my girls. Lack of discipline, no consequences, unsafe. I pulled my kids out, enough is enough and we will not be back.
I have to laugh after reading that post about cloning, if anything Mrs. Kleinman should be cloned. She has a professionalism that is amazing, she has the credentials and knowledge to be in a teaching postition. She is by far one of the best and most dedicated teachers that school has.
I am a very concerned parent, this is my son's second year attending this school and I am very unsatisfied with the school. The teachers or the principal is not passionate about their jobs. My son has a behavior problems with that being said my son and I have been treated like criminals. Instead of attempting to help the situation they decided it s easier to outcast my son. In addition, I believe the safety of the kids should be questioned. I have had a situation with another parent putting her hands on my son and verbally abusing him with very foul language.I was told the mother was mentally unstable; however they continue to allow her around the kids. Overall this school has a lot of problems and I would not recommend any parents put their child in this school.
I had 2 of my children attending school there when they first started attending school it was great my kids loved it its sad to say over the 2 years the school has really taken a dive for the worst. They have no control over the students I had to take my children out and enroll them in a public shool and I was told my children are really behind there fore my son was held back.I do not recommend this school to any parent.
I have two boys who attend this school and when my children first started this school I thought it was a pretty good school. My children both had wonderful teachers and that really made me think the school was good. Until there teachers both left. This school has a lot of things they need to work on. I feel the children should be able to move on to the next level.
The staff at phoenix advantage knows nothing about education. The administraters are just there for the big paycheck. If your child attends this school, I challenge you to walk around and observe the robots your children are turning to.
