Ranked A school!!! I wouldn't recommend your child to go to any other school. Respectful staff, encouraging teachers, well educated students and great school spirit! My daughter has been attending VDP since 1st grade. Now in 8th receives all fours on her reportcard.
my daughter just attending VDP elementary school this year, in 6th grad, she never been in USA before in her life at Chinese mother tongue and Egyptian back ground dad, with her great teachers, she is doing more than awesome special with her English and accent. BIG thanks to Mrs. Wells, Mr. Neville and indeed Mr. Neuman great school, great staff. well recommended
All five of my children attend Villa De Paz Elementary! The staff in the office are so nice, their teachers are grate in what they do! My children have learn so much.
i loved this school aseptically my 8th grade science teacher Mr.Erickson. Now that i am no longer attending this school i hope my brothers and sister will have Mr. Erickson he is a fun and enjoyable teacher. My cousin had him when he was at copper king and he too enjoyed him. Some students didn't like the way he teaches becouse he disaplense harshly but most of the students like him. as far as the other teachers they are ok.The students are a little rough around the edges but you get used to them after a couple days.
I think as a student its a good school the teachers were exellent, i was dooing so good n that school one they offered me a scholership.
As a parent I find it hard to say anything too positive about Villa de Paz. I enjoyed my childrens Kindergarten teacher, out up with the Second Grade teacher, embraced the 7th & 8th Grade Staff, that is until their lastest addition arrived, Mr. E. This one teacher has sucked the life out of the students motivation and the office staff's ignorance or unwillingness to address the issue has destroyed a once closely knitt staff. This school has begon to rot around one bad apple.
this was a terrible school to attend. discipline was hardly enforced, bullying was open and never punished when i attended. extracurricular activities were hardly present, the gifted program wasn't worthwhile... send your kids somewhere else.
As child who attend this school from 1st thru 8th grade I have to say I'm not impressed with the schooling I was given at Villa de Paz.. Tell me how is it that none of the teachers found my dyslexia til i was in high school?
This school has the greatest teachers that are willing to work with parents to achieve the goals students need to meet.
Since attending Villa De Paz in 07 my children have imporved in many areas and the staff really care about their progress
They are just great my child learns alot im so proud to call this my childs school
As a teacher at Villa I feel we have made great strides to have our school be a safe environment for our students. We are a Highly Performing school and that came from a lot of hard work from students, parents and teachers. I enjoy working at Villa and hope our students and parents do too.
Great teachers and overall a great school, little to no discipline issues. I am very involved in the school and can not say enough on how wonderful the staff and administrators are!
Well, from the comments of other parents i can see that i'm not the only that has a problem with the lack of extracurricular activities & the lack of safety (open/no gate on west side)
Villa de Paz is an above average school with above average teachers. My kids went attended K-8 there a few years ago. Both are doing well in high school and I expect them to graduate in the top one percent of their class. In general they had great teachers. I was involved in their classrooms, so I knew the teachers. Parental involvement makes all the difference.
I have 2 boys at Ville de Paz. 4 years now. I think they do a great job with what they have, which unfortunately isn't alot. Parents don't volunteer, they shirk their responsibility for parenting off onto the teacher. Parents should always be on top of their kids education. That is not the job of the teacher. A teacher is there to teach the academics but as far as the rest, culture, respect, morals....that falls to the parent. I do feel there are alot of undisciplined kids, but that doesn't fall to the school, parents need to step up and stop blaming teachers for everything their kids do. They need extra curricular programs. A good band class with the chance of advancing to advanced band, etc. I would love that for my kids. Overall I give them a B....they try hard.
My two boys attended Villa de Paz and we were very pleased with the teachers and staff. The bottom line for all students seemed to always be 'in the best interest of the child'. My sophmore son passed his AIMS writing with flying colors and was 1 point short for his AIMS math..and that was the first go round! I credit VdP teachers as he was there from 3rd-8th grades. I think as long as parents take care of their teaching of morals and ethics at home, Villa de Paz is quite capable of teaching willing students their academics. The extracurricular activities have dropped, though, as the years have gone by, and that is a shame, but more a district problem than individual school.
My son has gone to Villa de Paz since kindergarten and now is in 7th grade he has had 3 decent teachers. ( the ones that really teach and assign challenging work) Until fifth grade he always a great student A's and B's on the honor role, the last 2 years he has had C's and D's and the work he is asked to do is alot of review I think he needs to have challenging work if he is bored he starts talking to others around him and goofing around whicxh leads to poor performance. I have often wondered if he did go to another school how far behind he would be academically. I hope that the AIMS testing requirements go away I don't think my son will be able to pass this test to graduate.
My daughter attends preschool at this school. It's a great preschool program and the teachers are great.
Most teachers at this school dont call the parents to inform them of any behavioral issues. The overall student body are definitly not being taught how to respect each other.
