I am currently an 8th grader in MYP at Vista Verde. I love this program and Vista Verde. All of the staff at Vista Verde is fantastic. I have never been so happy to be a part of a greater picture. MYP has encouraged me to look at things from a different perspective. It has taught me how to be a better person. While at Vista Verde I have tried things that I normally wouldn't consider. I've tried numerous sports and after school clubs. At first these things didn't interet me much, but I have made friends that I know will last a life time. Another great thing about MYP is the trip to Wahington, DC. This trip gives students the opprutunity to meet people from different places around the US. We were really able to connect with them and see their perspective on different topics. Vista Verde's teachers are also a key part to my success. They are all willing to help and truly want the best for us. Vista Verde has shown me that I can do anything. I wouldn't want to be at any other middle school because Vista Verde is perfect.

I hate this school!!! i am a student at Vista Verde and honestly wish i wasn't.I have asked to be transfered many times but it has not worked . The students are mean and pick on anyone who has an oppinion different than thare own.the teachers are only pay atenion to the kids who are misbehaving in class ,not the ones who actually want to learn.Children are are constenly cursing , texting, chewing gum,and talking when the teachers talking, and get away with it becuse the teachers are too bisy trying to handle one or more children who are making a secne and rilling the other kids up. Besides the disiplin, the edgucation also needs work. The school has a few good programs that rase the test scores, but if your not in them you are constenly taught, and treated, like a third grader.Parents,if your reading this do NOT send your child to this school.I have been hear for almost 2years now and have hated every second of it . ~annonomous Vista Verde student

Our daughter has attended Vista Verde the last two years while in the IB Program. She has had nothing but great experiences there! The IB teachers are knowledgeable, informed, caring, and really respect the different learning styles of each student. Beyond that, the principal and vice-principal are truly active in the daily activities of all the students in and outside the classroom. We highly recommend Vista Verde and the IB Program there!

I am a current 8th grade student of VVMS in the IB/MYP program. Vista Verde is a low income school and isn't in the best of neighborhoods, but the IB program has changed my perspective on my view on almost everything. I used to just concentrate on the top layer perspective but now I look at all sides in much more depth. I've had a great 2yrs there. There have been fights but the Vice principal, the police officer on campus, and the duty aides got a handle on the situations right a away. This is bound to happen at the best of schools. The main point is that the teachers know what they're doing, and they care about each and every student even if it doesn't seem like it from the outside. All the teachers want all of their students to do a great job in their class. In IB we are taught to connect all of our subjects together and I think that all of the teachers do that. The teachers form their curriculum around all of their students' learning abilities. Over all Vista Verde is a great school to go to if you are going in to IB or even just as a regular student. You will fit in any where at VVMS!

I am a 7th grade student attending vvms currently and i reccomend sending your child to this school. The teachers are very attentive and involved with thier students. The principal and VP are also very involved and dont let bullying go unhandled. VVMS is also the only A+ middle school in the district as far as I have looked.

Vista Verde is an okay school. If you are looking to try the IB program, it's a good way to 'test' it before you go onto high school (if you want to do IB in high school). The reason I only rated this 3 stars was because there are some drug problems throughout the year, as well as many fights. These occur before, during, and afterschool, and also on school buses. If you plan on doing IB, they keep IB and 'regular' kids seperate, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on your opinion. Some teachers are great, but others only assign busy work and don't pay attention to students if they have confusion or might be falling a bit behind. The PE and sports programs are way better than other schools. Arts programs are also offered. Overall, VVMS is only 'ok'.

Im currently a 7th grader at V.V.If any parents are trying to decide if they should send their child here....well I recommmend not to. Im in the I.B. program and the program teaches students to think more world-widely. My achievement in elementary school (quail run) were all A's and I participated in reading and math honers. Also I was in band and still am.What I mean by not going to this school is that the whole point to even go to vista is to get in the I.B. program. 1 out of 10 students actually make it in...... so chances are your child will not make it in.And im sure other parents have told you that the band gets to go to disneyland.....well now the 2nd time in a row, we've had to cancel the trip for budget situations. this school is the #1 school for the most students in a class.gotomountaintrail!!

Our son just graduated from Vista Verde. We have been very pleased with the teacher s involvement and attentiveness to any of our concerns. The teachers are energetic, positive and knowledgeable. The principle and VP are very involved and aware of all aspects of the school. Safety was never a concern for us. The PE and after school sports programs and their coaches have been a very influential experience for our son.. Thank you Vista Verde!!

I'm a proud student of Vista Verde in the AVID program. It has made me a straight A student in the eighth grade.
