Imagine is a Great school, and my child loves going to school there. She excels in her education, and we plan on sending our younger child there as well.

Since I learned about Imagine School, I have nothing to say but great things about them. I had my oldest daughter at Imagine at Cortez Park and now my little one is at Bell Canyon. I ll never go back to public schools!! I love Bell Canyon because the classes are smaller and they have advanced classes for kids that are very smart.

This school talks big but nothing comes of it. they say that they have small classes, NOT true. One class has 40 kids most 30. The teachers try their best, but are not given everything they need to help the children. The women in the front office that speaks Spanish lies to us parents, and looks down on white people. I would interview the teacher and do a day with your kids before you go here.

As a first year teacher, I had an amazing experience teaching at this school. Beginning with the first phone interview, the administration and staff welcomed me into the Imagine Bell Canyon family with sincere, wide open arms. (Due to personal circumstances, I won't be teaching there next year, but if I could- I would). My colleagues were amazing, and the population of students even more so. Not going to lie, they experienced a bit of instability with regards to maintaining staff, and do have their share of disciplinary issues. BUT... I know for a fact that the leaders and teachers are constantly working on improving the environment, setting uniform consequences for undesirable behavior, and finding solutions via positive behavior support systems. I had the fortunate opportunity to be in contact with several parents, and they seemed to be receptive to and appreciative of feedback. Bottom line: it was a supportive place to teach, the students are amazing characters, the aides are TOP-NOTCH, and it makes my heart sing to think back on the positive experiences I had while there.

My children have attended Imagine for the past 4 years even though the school has gone throug staff changes I am happy with the results. The pre-school teachers are excellent which is so important for a great education start. I notice how clean the school is maintain and the staff are friendly and approachable. My children will continue to attend Imagine because is a small secure envirorment. I get weekly progress reports. I reallly like micro society becuase its teaching my children the kind of world they will encounter and I feel like its preparing them to be successful members of society. My son started kindergarten at IBC this year and to be honest I was very unsure how my son would do because he has some special needs. I am very pleased to say that he has done extremely well! His teacher is absolutely amazing and has helped him through many issues. She shows great patience and compassion for her students and it really makes a difference. Not to mention she is a rock star at educating them! He and his classmates have learned so much throughout the year and have made HUGE progress! I couldn t be happier with his kindergarten experience.

My son attends preschool at Bell Canyon. The teacher and aid in his room really take the time to get to know the children and how best to understand all the students in the room. The teacher also uses a program to evaluate where he is academically and so this helps both the teacher and myself to better help my son prepare for kindergarten.

I love Imagine Bell Canyon. My son has just been going this year for Kindergarten but has learned so much! He is already reading and writing multiple sentences. His teacher is amazing. There is plenty of communication between the school and home and they highly encourage parental and family involvement which is wonderful. The before and after care staff are pleasant and interact great with the kids. We will be returning for 1st grade for sure.

My niece Ashley has been going here for two years. She has loved it because she has had the privilege to have the same excellent teacher for her two years. She asked to leave this school due to the lack of school sports not being offered. My other niece graduated last year and has had the privilege to come back and volunteer. I hope that this school keeps on succeeding, but on a serious work on their disciplining. Other than this it has been a pleasure being a part of this school.. I will be returning to help out when they need me. Thank you

I like Imagine Bell Canyon because of the decision of keeping the classroom size to a minimum. As a parent, is important to me because it allows the Teachers/Teacher Aids to have more quality time with each student. The Special Education Department Teachers are wonderful! One of my son's has excelled not only in his regular class but also with his Special Education class - exceeding some of his goals on his IEP. IBC has a group of caring Teachers/Staff that are willing to work with the kids before, during and after school on the subjects for which your child needs extra help. I love the idea of them getting life experience as they work in Micro Society at the end of each day. It is a great opportunity to have your child experience in applying for and interviewing for jobs that they will be working at while in school, as well as, learning how to pay taxes and the joys of getting paid then going to the Mircro store to get what they want with the money they earned. I really enjoy having my boys at IBC and am looking forward to the next year.

My school is Imagine Bell Canyon.... From the minute you walk thru the door you can see that the teachers and staff are happy to be there! Smiling faces and positive attitudes towards the kids and parents Classrooms are small and the teachers know the needs and wants from each and every one of their students. I had the mommy fear of leaving my kindergarten, but as soon as he got home and told me how much fun he had, that fear was gone. I will gladly tell anyone and everyone about this school! Keep up the good work Imagine Bell Team! Kindergarten takes a lot of field trips which is always fun for us mommy s to join and help the teachers. I work a full time job and my schedule is very crazy at times, but Mrs. Mandell has gone above and beyond to make sure I m always updated and informed about homework, projects and my child s behavior. She is an amazing teacher!

We LOVE our school! We wanted our child to belong to a school that had full day kinder and we wanted a curriculum. Everyone at the school is always so willing to help in any way that they can. We will continue with Bell Canyon through 8th grade. They only thing that would be an improvement, is the pick-up and drop-off area. If it was bigger it would be so much better, but with that said they only have so much property right.

This school cherishes every student and works diligently to find the best in each and every one of them. If there are any challenges, teachers work even harder to overcome any of the challenges a student may have. The success rate is overwhelming! Smaller class size really makes a difference. My son is in the Pre K-3 and he absolutely loves it. The teachers there Ms. M and Mrs. Courtney are so wonderful. My son has a hard time adjusting to typical day cares but here at Imagine at Bell Canyon he loves to go there. They actually learn to write their name and count recognize numbers letters and so much other things. They plant flowers and actually had butterfly's that were caterpillars at first and the children everyday would come in and see the process for themselves. Ms. M has so many great ideas that she shares with the kids and they get so much from her. My son will be continuing his education here and we are excited for it.

My daughters are attending this school for the first time this year. They are both coming home with good grades and seem to be happy with the school. My fourth grader complains a lot about the way the class behaves when the teacher is trying to teach. She seems to feel that the teacher has no control over the class. My second grader seems to be happy with her teacher. She has had nothing but compliments about her. I feel all in all that the school is a good school for the children of our area to attend.

Imagine Bell Canyon is an amazing school with great teachers, (appropriately) challenging curriculum, and customized learning for each student. The education model includes character development, and entrepreneurship and life skills, as well as the academic basics. Good communication from teachers, front office staff, and school leaders. The school has had a couple different principals the last few years, but the staff remains united and the quality of education and communication has not faltered. Small middle school program, would like to see it grow by the time my child is entering 6th grade. Highly recommend Imagine Bell Canyon.

If your child is being bullied, it's your child that gets in trouble for defending themselves but the bullies go free. The teachers don't care. The after-care staff doesn't care and they do not properly watch your children. The kids just do whatever. The staff is a revolving door, no one stays for more than 2 years. It has steadily gotten worse and worse over the 3 years that my son has been there.

Charter schools have ups and downs. There have been many changes within the middle school. I really blame the last principal for all the negativity and teachers leaving in the middle of the year. I have had a meeting with the new and definitely improved principal and the school is for sure going in the right direction, The elementary part of the school is GREAT and the teachers are GREAT and they have stayed focused on the children through all the ups and downs.

Imagine Bell Canyon has many wonderful things to offer. First and foremost students are treated as individuals and people rather than a number. Every time I walk in the door I am greeted warmly. It makes me feel good to send my child to school knowing he is cared for as I would care for him. Secondly, their focus on character education is teaching my son about the importance of being responsible, respectful, and honest. Lastly, the school is data driven. They know my child's strengths and weaknesses and are supporting him in his academics. The APTT nights allow me to see how my child is performing compared to his peers and provides me strategies to work with him at home. I love this school and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a rigorous academic program and a home away from home.

As a working parent I looked and looked for a school that would not only fit our schedule but also my daughter's academic needs. My daughter is very smart and needs to be challenged or she gets bored and gives up. The accelerated program not only makes it challenging for the whole class but also for my daughter's individual needs. My daughter loves her teachers and we love the school schedule. I have also noticed a lot of negative comments about the administration. Yes they have had a few hiccups but have always been open and honest with parents and even if it inconveniences a few people they keep the kids safe. If you want your child going to a school like Columbine then go ahead. I prefer to be slightly inconvenienced and have my daughter safe.

Like any school, it has had its good times and its rough times. That being said, I am very happy to send my child here everyday. It makes me happy to see my son come home in a good mood and wanting to tell me about his day. The office staff has never let me down and I never seem to have an issue getting in touch with the teacher. I look forward to sending my son back here next year!

This is my child's fourth year at this school and we couldn't be happier with her progress. Compared to the nearest traditional school where an older sister went, this child is much farther along in all subjects. There was also a change of the teacher in this child's class midway through the year but as far as we can tell so far the change went smoothly. My child is excited to go to school everyday and is scoring high on national tests. As with any school you should visit it for yourself and then decide if it is the right school for you and your child.

very bad school, not only because they switch teachers in the middle school constantly but because they don't focus on students as much as they should. If something happens Middle school is the first one to get blamed for it; and talking about middle school it's the least focused on group in the entire school...this year 3 teachers have quit in the middle school and they're all in different subjects, and they're still trying to Replace a very good teacher that left in social studies . The science teacher Is very good although, she doesn't know how to handle some of the kids attitudes she's a very good teacher, the middle school should honestly be shut down no need for it anymore, none of the kids are learning anything.. and it's not only this year, Last year also...around 6 math teachers for middle school fired and one science teacher left. This school should stay focusing on younger grades since that's what it does already...and they're not good at that either...

Mock Society=Micro Society sounded like a good idea, but problems occur when mixing older kids with the younger ones. Curriculum at times is confusing. Math is not given enough attention at this school. My child attended a full year in 1st grade, 1 Semester in 2nd grade and at assessment in September, 64 Percent of the entire class scored 23 percent correct on the Addition Assessment Test. Clearly something is not working here.

This school is terrible! In 5 yrs, we have had a combined total of 10 teachers quit for "personal" reasons. Out of the 10.. 4 of them were abrupt (mid day, month, year, we've experienced all). Then there has been 3 principal rotations, and a steady rotating door of friendships made and lost due to this ratio of staff turnover. The administration is even worse!!! They ignore court orders, doctors orders, state rules and regulations, and quite frankly care more about their "numbers" or quota so to speak than the children they are allegedly educating. These kids have it hard enough trying to keep up with a rigorous schedule, let alone switching teachers mid circle, changing schedules due to teacher changes, and trying to keep their grades up when nobody can really give a valid response as to what exactly they are supposed to be studying! Top that with the wonderful substitute who for nearly 2 weeks now, feels the best way to teach our kids is through crossword puzzles and word searches... All day without any actual subjects being studied. Do not send your kids here.. Period. Any parent who believes otherwise, has not been there through all of this great change like we have.

Kids don't go to school to play in a make believe society they go there to learn. Parents who rave about how "cool" micro is, why don't you just stick your kid on the corner with a sign that says "hungry will work for food" because they aren't learning anything without a solid staff and administration! This school should have closed after Cynthia Juarez and her less than professional attitude, attire, and lack of leadership (principal of 11-12 school year) but no they keep it open to collect government dollars and our kids suffer. There is chaos, no leadership, a rotating door of teachers that makes a merry go round seem still, bullies, poor attitudes, and an administration that cares more about $$$ than your child's well being.

3 school years ago this school had a rating of a 7.Now it has dropped to a 5. There is a lack of communication between teacher, parent and principal. This school doesn't take bullying seriously. The most important detail is that the current principal and teachers I feel are only there for a paycheck.

I have always preferred a Charter School over a regular public school; but not all are the same. I like this school because my son has attended here for going on 3 years now. I like the small class sizes. They do however have a high turnover rate of staff and that is why I gave 4 stars instead if 5. They have a really neat program called Micro society. It is the only school I know of that has this and the kids seem to really enjoy this.

This school has problems. If you have a middle school student, think again before enrolling your student. Students talk during class and get up to talk to friends. They are rude to teachers. There have been 3 math teachers this year in middle school. There is no real discipline. Kids push and shove each other. Most of the teachers are new to teaching and new to this school, because the teachers from last year all left. It is hard for parents to find out how their student is doing because some teachers don't pick up papers and mark the grades on the assignments!! All you see as a parent, is the grade that was posted online. Don't bother asking the teacher about the grades because he/she doesn't want to discuss it. This is a C rate school for a reason.

I love how no matter the level that my kid is at they can challange the. I have 3 that go to this school. One kid is super smart in everything and learns really quick. Bell Canyon has him always challanged, but not over welmed. My next child excels in most everything other then reading, he is pushed to keep going in all areas, and is given the extra suportt need in reading. My youngest child is a slow learner, they give extra time and effort in all areas. Not one of my kids have ever come home feeling like they didn't learn something, or that they were not good enough. In this school every one that works there beleive that every child is wonderful and treat each one with respect.

For someone who reads the excellent reviews, be careful! Don't be deficient in judgement when you hear my story. My kid was a straight A student and was going onto the fifth year with the school. I supported the school in everything as I used to be a teacher myself. My child was in a preparatory class, practically learning for two grades. All of a sudden math teacher started loosing homework and the child started getting Fs. The teacher refused giving the pack again; now, this was a second pack magically disappearing. I accused both the principal and the teacher of bulling the student, but they both stood ignorant. As one might have thought, I requested a withdrawal letter while the principal and the teacher just watched me. Magically, the pack resurfaced again and the teacher said he was going to change the F and it is going to be maybe a B. Ha-ha, do you see my message. If you want to go to a marketplace, sure enough, you are at the right place. Proud always of my son, he is in a gifted class. Message from a former teacher, nobody deserves that treatment, and especially not your child! Don't you think so? What is going to be the future of this kids if we teach them wrong?!

Been with this school with my daughter in Kindergarden for a few weeks now and I am completely unimpressed with they way the teachers and staff work here. They are stating that my daughter is having issues, but right in front of my daughter actually say negative things about her. This is not how we solve problems. This is not how most teachers operate. My daughter has been a good person and did excellent in preschool. Something at this school has changed and the teachers just give me the "I don't care" attitude. Look elsewhere if you want people that care

This is our first year at Imagine Bell Canyon and we are very pleased with the quality of education our Kindergartener has received along with the genuine level of care shown by not only by her wonderful teacher, but by the staff as a whole. The principal greets us by name whenever we are on campus, personally met with me to listen to my concerns/suggestions and, in my opinion, has made some positive changes within the school this past year. Microsociety is such a fantastic program!! It is teaching my daughter community responsibility in a way that would be hard for me to duplicate at home. I love that she works together within a group her own age led by a student in an upper grade. They all learn a lot from each other. I highly recommend this school!

This was our first year at Imagine Bell Canyon. We checked out many charter schools in our area, and are very happy with our decision. The MicroSociety program has been an amazing way to teach what life will be like when our son enters the "real world" work force. His classroom teacher has gone above and beyond in educating her students, and relating to them individually. The principal has been highly involved in all aspects of the school. I have seen her interact with parents and students on a field trip. There are many remarkably caring teachers who will be returning next year. If you're a parent who likes to be involved in your child's education, there are many opportunities for you here, along with a principal who is willing to listen to your needs and meet them to the best of her ability. I recommend this school to parents, and students of any age, K-12.

This is our first year at Imagine Bell Canyon. We did a lot of research before we came to this amazing school. They offer several wonderful programs, such as, Micro Society which my son loves, free all-day kindergarten, and a school curriculum that is beyond any expectations I could have. The teachers are friendly and they care about our students. The principal is absolutely the best. She came up to me at the beginning of the year and introduced herself. She is very easy to communicate with and a wonderful problem solver. I recommend this school and their staff to all parents I meet. We are happy here and can t wait to see what next year will bring.

I used to absolutely love this school, but after the administration changed yet again I will not be returning. The new principal this year is atrocious. She does not care about the kids and her only focus is on enrollment. Every conversation I have had with her shows her lack of professionalism and care. The principal should not be working in education. She would make a much better used car salesman. This is also a uniform school and most of the students are either not in their uniforms or not following dress code. That goes for some of the younger staff as well. I really had high hopes for this school, but if this is the direction the Bell Canyon is going to go, you're better off taking your kids to a district school.

This is my son s third year at Imagine and I have not only seen him grow but the school has grown as well. The improvements to the parking, the murals on the walls, the gardens that they are growing, Imagine is really striving to reflect the great job they are doing inside and out. I have had a chance to talk with teachers and parents from other schools and they are amazed at the math program and a bit green with envy with Microsociety. I feel this school provides my son a well rounded education and the support he needs to excel in both life in general and in his educational environment. I would highly recommend the Imagine Schools and the only reason I haven t rated it with a five stars is because I know it has room to become even better.

I could not be any prouder of this school if I were the principal!! My daughter is in 7th grade and has been attending since Kindergarten. The changes over the last four years have been amazing, for lack of a better word. From the technology in the classroom, to the interaction of the parents, to the accelerated program, to the Junior National Honor Society, to the addition of the most wonderful staff, I am SO proud to belong to Imagine Bell Canyon. We have grown in size; we have increased our standardized test scores; and the potential is there for so much more! I trult hope that any parent looking for a challenging environment for their child will take a look at us.

My son has been going to Bell Canyon for two years. He began in preschool with Ms. Gokool and has her again this year for kindergarten. He has really flourished at Bell Canyon. When he first started prek he was shy and had trouble separating from me. She worked on his anxiety as well as his academics. This year has been a great success. My son has been doing well academically and is constantly being challeged. To accommodate him, the school is sending him to first grade for reading so he can continue to be challenged. Bell Canyon focuses on the whole student: academics, character, and behavior.

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!!!!! i have both of my daughters in this school this year. my 1st grader has mrs. tolan again this year and she adores her teacher. my kindergartener had a wonderful new teacher mrs. stuber, who is so adorable. my kindergartener is on the sensitive side and mrs. stuber is so patient with her. they both come home wanting to do their homework before doing anything else. micr society is awesome, the kids love it. the staff, teachers and pricipal are wonderful. you feel like your walking into a family environment when you come into the school. they watch out and take of your children like they were their own. the 5 rating is ridiculous, this school deserves a 10.

This is the first year my children have attended Imagine Bell Canyon and my fourth grader and my kindergartner absolutely love it. My fourth grader finally is being challenged by a great teacher; Mrs. Patterson. Mrs. Zinn is a warm, friendly teacher who has really been able to get my son to enjoy learning. Let's not forget the most friendly front office staff. I have never experienced the kindness and love for the children at that school; not to mention the entire staff tries to get to know all the parents and children of the school. The Micro Society is a great experience for the children to prepare them for the "real world." I am very impressed.

My Daughter is about to complete her first grade and she loves her teacher Mrs. Klein. She has grown a lot since the beginning of the year and she loves reading books and enjoys math homework. Everyday my daughter comes home excited about her school day and tries to explain to me the work she has done and the fun stuff she has learned. Mrs. Klein has done an outstanding job in making school days more enjoyable yet at the same time she made sure that the kids are learning. In my opinion, Mrs. Klein deserves kudos for her effort and job well done. Also, the new leadership team direction and vision (such as the introduction of Singapore math, micros city) has been proven to be effective and useful for all kids. I do believe the school deserves a better rating from last year.

As we all know there is never such thing as A perfect school....sometimes you can send your kids to a great school, but they get a teacher that makes their experience not so good, and vice versa a not so great school with a wonderful teacher that reallyhad an impact on your childs learning experience...but no mater what the most important thing wih any school is "improvement" bell canyon has shown that they care enough to make improvements where needed..This is the 2nd year here for my children and I must say they would be upset with me if I told them they had to attend another school..The teachers this year have made the school a wonderful place for my kids. The improvements and growth of the school was simply amazing. It started a little rocky an I had concerns as any parent should, but hanging in there was worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this school! My son comes home excited about the things hes learned and the teachers are AMAZING. The Microsociety class alone is reason enough to put your child in this school. The day before Thanksgiving break as I waited to pick my son up from school the teachers and staff came out of the school first and lined up on either side of the sidewalk. As the kids left the school the teachers began clapping and cheering for the kids. Soon parents joined in. The kids were smiling ear to ear and my son said that it made him feel like the teachers really care about them. It was called The Tunnel of Hope. The teachers high 5 and knuckle bump the kids, pat them on the shoulder and ruffle their hair and most of all they smile AT your child. Incredible!

This is our 4th year at this school; my daughter started in 2006 in Kinder. I LOVE the changes that are being implemented under the new principal! One of my favorite changes is the addition of smart boards in every classroom (3rd and up; K-2 have 'floating' board to share). The PreK curriculum is great. I can't wait until my youngest is old enough to attend! I definitely reccommend this school to anyone!

I LOVE this school!!! They let my daughter start kindergarden this year even though her B-day is in Oct. My 3rd grader went from D's to A's and the work she is doing is more challenging! The whole staff cares about not just there education but them as a person. They have uniforms! No more fashion struggle it's all about the learning. They are doing new innovative activities that have the kids thinking outside the box: Singapour math, mircosocity to name a few! #1 thing is they want parent involment! This is tution free Charter school with a private prep school feeling! And it's K-8! This is the school I've been looking for and my children will reap the benifit of an amazing 21st centry education!

From the 1st impression through 1st quarter progress reports, I have had nothing but postives from this school. My oldest daughter was struggling at her previous school and beginning to hate school. Right now, her reading has improved and she is an 'A' student. I believe the quality of teachers has a great deal to do with that. The Teach for America program is one thing that caught my attention, the Kids at Hope approach to learning was another, and let's not forget Micro-Society. My wife and I are convinced that the small class size is another contributing factor. The classrooms are equiped with computer interactive whiteboards which help to engage the students. Also, my 4 yr old would have had to wait to start Kindergarten anyplace else, NOT at Imagine Bell Canyon. We love this place, and want our girls to grow with it!

The new 2009-2010 school year is going to be the best yet, with new programs in place and new staff to carry them through. I am so excited to have a brand new administration team at our school. The new changes are going to make a huge difference in the lives of our children and their families. A microsociety and kids at hope program are just the begining of a great school year. Our administration wants only positive, caring, and top notch teachers and that is why many teachers were not asked back for the 2009-2010 school year. Free pizza night, bowling & laser tag are some of the wonderful ways we keep in touch with our families and our community. Bell Canyon Rocks!

Kudos to the new administration for having the guts to start fresh! It's true that many teachers are being replaced. I see this as a good thing! The 4 out of 10 rating this school has is because of the staff. Time to start fresh with new ideas and new minds.

Recently, 3 teachers from Bell Canyon were rehired, 3 decided to obtain a position at Adams Traditional with Mrs Malone the fromer principal at Bell Canyon, 2 decided to look elsewhere for employment and 9 teachers were let go via a mass email. As a concerned citizen and a parent, I would question the reasons behind so many changes at Bell Canyon. The current staff was turning the school around and is very dedicated. Why are they trying to fix something that isn't broken and was finally starting to work?

I heard a lot of discouraging things about charter schools. I decided to go to an open house where the school principle spoke about her philosophy on education, and I decided to try it. My daughter now goes to this school and I believe it to be the best decision I could have made. We picked the school because we felt that it would be the best place for our child. We have a child in daycar that attended the school and we felt warmly about having our our child go to the same school. Now we regret the decision because since day one of the school year there have been numberous problems, from just about every area but most importantly the academics of the school are low. Our son diminstrates he know the stuff being taught, but unfortunalely his grades do not reflex this at all. I have yet to see any structure in the school.

There have always been various issues that needed to be addressed by this school but the most recent is bullying. The administration did not confront the children involved in bullying and as a result the victims became penalized while bullys continued on with unacceptable behaviour. The cafeteria lunches were definitely not healthy from a perspective of what constitutes good healthy meals. The playground is way too small to accomodate any physical programs in P.E. other than a small side basketball court. My daughter was lucky with good teachers and that is the reason we stayed for six years. There is a new principal 2007-2008. She has a very good reputation and I'm sure she will turn the school around to what it is capable of being.

My children attended Bell Canyon for three years. I was very involved in the school and had behind the scenes knowlege. I saw this schools enrollment decline, unhappy teachers, lack of discipline, and low test scores. I stayed because I had high hopes with the new administration so I stayed during this transition. What a mistake! My children seemed to be excelling, had the grades to prove it, but they had to fight off bullies on a daily basis. It was hard to leave behind friends and change schools, but I had no choice. I had the inside scoop from the bottom up. and trust me run from this school! It is a business, not a school. They are car salesmen. My family is at a great school now. What a hard lesson at my chilren's expense. I learned my children were way behind and received undeserved grades.

My daughter has attended Bell Canyon for the past four years and my son for the past two. Since Mrs. Scorza became the principal, I've noticed a huge difference. She is very approachable. Not only does she greet the students as they enter the school in the morning, I've even seen her picking up trash in the parking lot. She has geniune pride in this school and it shows. The front office staff is very friendly and helpful. For the 05/06 school year, there were many new teachers, many looked fresh out of college. My son's kindergarden teacher Miss Stewart was young but top notch. My daughter's teacher was also wonderful. My children did not have any problems, but they were also respectful and considerate students. That is key. I would like to see more after school classes offered. I was excited for the addition of yoga and karate.

I would not recommend this school. The school seems to lack discipline. On the times I was there, there were students running down the hallway, name calling, swearing, and fights by the students out on the playground and in the hallway. The staff just looks tired and worn out. My child's teacher explained that there is just not enough staff at the school and nothing is done when the children get refered to the office.

My child has attended Bell Canyon for 5 years. All but this year, we have had exceptional teachers that were truly involved and energetic in their teaching ways. Yay, on having 6th and 7th grades next year and then 8th the following year to come. Would like more info on the high school that is in the works. We do wish there were more extracurricular and special programs. The yoga class offered is a wonderful addition! Also, a better & (more affordable) before and after care program is definitely needed. Barbi at the front desk is awesome and a great value to the school! I do believe that the smaller amount of students per teacher ratio is hugely beneficial and look forward to seeing what the school has to offer next school year.

In the years to follow the leadership of Sherry Jones by Mrs. Scorza, I believe our school (which my own children attend) has improved greatly. We have achieved academic excellence and the discipline has improved as well. We now have music and have been working on a sports team. I believe Bell Canyon is the place to have your children educated because I have a 7th grader that I had to put in a public school and now his attitude and demeanor stink. My 5th grader still has a pretty good communication and attitude and he is still attending Bell Canyon. Anyone who has had a problem with Bell Canyon is someone who never brought the problem to Mrs. Scorza otherwise it would have been resolved.

This is a good school for students who need one on one attention. Class sizes are smaller than public schools. My sons have enjoyed their years there.

This is my children's 2nd year at this school, and they will continue. My children have gone to 2 other schools that I have had to pull them out of until I found this one. The staff and teachers have always been helpful and interested in the well being of my children. They love attending this school. They have grown academically and socailly here. The after school programs are great and offer a wide variety of activities to choose from. Both of my children are a/b students and amaze friends with knowledgable facts that their children of the same grades do not know! I highly recomend this school!

My children attended Bell Canyon for one year, and they will not be returning. The education that my youngest recieved was sufficient, but not of the caliber I would expect from such an acclaimed charter school. In addition, I was extremely angry with the conditions that my older child was subjected to. Her math teacher left early in the school year for health reasons. My daughter's math skills deteriorated dramatically as a result of this, requiring us to hire a tutor to help her get ready for 7th grade. I realize that unexpected things happen, but I was very disappointed with the way the situation was handled.

This school has just completed their 4th year as a new charter school and my daughter has enjoyed her time there and has benefited greatly from the smaller class size which were typically 22 or less students per class room. The experienced teachers were a great asset. In 2005/2006, however they are replacing 14 of the 18 teachers with new teachers fresh out of college and while a new teacher can bring fresh ideas replacing most of the staff seems a bit too much to most of the parents, especially the 3-6th graders. Many parents are switching to public schools this next year because the new principal seems more interested in hiring teachers she can mold into her only way of thinking and those that will only operate under her ideas. The parents teacher origanization became non-exsistent over the last year after a large sum of money came up missing.

The smaller class sizes made this school a great opportunity to help students like my child that are IEP students in need of assistance to achienve their max potential. Unfortunely, the new principal is not interested in what the parents think. She did not retain the most effective and experienced teachers that would have allowed the students in the most need to meet their needs while still accomplishing their goals. No gym, no art, no music, no drama dept...this school is lacking~

This school treats its teachers terrible. The principal is not friendly at all. It is so clear that this school's top priority is not the education of our children.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of education my daughter received. Halfway through the year she had to transfer to a public school in Texas and was so behind in math (despite being an A math student at Bell Canyon) that we had to hire a tutor. The math she was taught at Bell Canyon equalled that of 1st grade! Very disappointing. The organization of the school was horrendous as well. Activites were badly put together and notices were sent home usually only a day before something was needed to be paid for. I don't plan on putting my child back into Bell Canyon again next year.

Making the decision where to send my first child to kindergarten was very difficult for me. I have always been somewhat worried about 'the charter school experience' because of all of the horror stories I have heard. As a former teacher, I have been very pleased with our experience at Bell Canyon, especially with my daughter's teacher and the curriculum. She was reading by Christmas break and has already surpassed her first-grade cousin's reading level. I have and will tell others about this school because it has surpassed all of my expectations. (The uniform dress code is also very good because it helps everyone feel like a part of the 'team' at their school.) I wish that I could spend more time there!

I have 2 children in this school for the last 3 years. I am very happy with the quality of education they are receiving. The teachers are exceptional. They work within the boundaries they are dealt and do a great job! My children never complain about the small playground, or any of the other stuff other parents seem to have issues with. If you as a parent are totally involved in your child's education and your child behaves appropriately, you will not be disappointed.

I have a son in Kindergarten this year, and while we really like his teacher, there are alot of other problems in this school. We have just found out that they are changing the school start and end times in the middle of the school year! What a disruption to the students and their families. Many promises were made and few have been kept by this school. Will not be back next year!

My daughters teacher is wonderful! In my opinion the school has really gone downhill year by year as far as the activities they are slowly taking away from the kids...looking into other schools this isn't the case, they have all of the extra curricular activities. I wouldn't recommend this school to a parent, but I wouldn't discourage them either. There is no music, art, foreign language offered! just a few token after school stuff that we have to pay for! I am just happy that there are a lot of other schools to choose from! I would be very suprised if this school stays open until the end of the school year.

Most of the expected programs are gone: music, art, spanish. I am not impressed with the front office personnel...very evasive and not well trained in customer service or human relations...I am looking forward to the end of my children being there in June...for now...we are happy with their teachers.

My daughter has attended Bell Canyon since it opened. As many other people have commented, the school promises plenty and delivers nothing. The only reason I keep her at Bell Canyon is the class size and that with pushing from me, her teachers give her the extra work she needs to stay busy and develop her abilities. She's a bright kid but the public schools in the area can't keep her busy enough for her not to be labeled 'trouble maker'. I won't be sending her to the Chancellor middle school and I don't recommend this school for anyone that isn't involved in their childs educational goals.

My son attended this school in the 2001-2002 school year. It was AWFUL. He had three teachers during the year. I had to attend school with him because the teacher was a first year teacher and had no control of the classroom. Despite repeated complaints, this teacher went unchecked until the Winter Break. After several physical altercations in the classroom, I called the State Board of Charters. My son wasted an entire year of his school life as we went on other waiting lists for other charter school. He now attends Valley Academy and the difference in the discipline and quality of education is amazing. The adminstration is lacking all leadership and little discretion. More than one time I walked into the main lobby to hear them discussion one child's or family's problems by name so they were easily identifiable with no regard that as a parent I was simply standing there listening. I had to wonder if they talked as openly about me.

When touring the school to select the best education for my child I was impressed by all that was 'offered'. I quickly found out (after school had started) that those offers don't exist! The music program was proudly talked about during the tour. To my surprise the music teacher was split between two schools. We wouldn't get music instruction until the spring. This decision was not communicated to the parents. The parent/teacher organization is really a fundraiser commitee. No topics regarding leadership, teachers, uniforms, policy etc are allowed to be discussed. The parents raised funds for picnic benches which were never installed, if they were even purchased. The parents were asked to sell cookie dough in order to pay for classroom supplies. Our profits from that sale were close to $30,000. Immediately after this fundraiser students in my son's class were asked to send $7 each in order to buy 'agenda books'. The office staff is inadequately trained and to no suprise are family members of the principal. The principal is extremely lacking in people and leadership skills. I withdrew my child during the year and provided him with the education he wasn't given at home. He is now enrolled at a 'Good School' and I caution all parents to not choose a school based on it's promises!

My daughter attended 2nd grade at Chancellor @ Bell Canyon and I was very satisfied. She excelled very well in all areas and her teacher was wonderful. She will be attending 3rd grade as well and very happy to be going back. She is counting down the days as if Christmas was coming.
