This school is definitely not Montessori, regardless of the name! Instead, the administrators seem to pick and choose what parts of Montessori education they deem appropriate. For example: When our children went to school there, they learned to sing Christmas carols, read stories on Christmas, and made Christmas crafts. Kwaanza, Hannukah, and other winter festivals were never discussed. This is odd, as true Montessori schools are about diversity. Of course, diversity is also an issue: In a district in which 90% of the student population is Hispanic, this particular school has a huge Caucasian population! Of course, they would when all prospective parents are made to fill out an application for enrollment, which no administrator will admit to reading or using in the selection criteria. The whole program is bizaare, and there does not seem to be any oversight by the District on staff or the program itself.
