i was a student there at daystar and i left the school in 5th grade when mr.zumudio became the principal, the school just went down hill when he became the principal the school just got worse and my mom wasn't happy with the school. but now looking back at the school i really do miss it and wish they never had closed it down! that school was the only school that i liked being at but they had to shut it down :(

I use to work at DayStar Academy and was the 2nd Grade Teacher 2001-2003. At that time the school was one of the best as far as the teachers and administrative staff. Sure, it had it's problems but the students were well taught and it showed in the SAT scores. I was saddened by the comments below.

Pinnacle has lost focus on students and is mainly concerned with the amount of money they can make on each student. They do not take their teachers seriously, making them feel worthless. In 4 years at Pinnacle I witnessed an extremely high turnover rate, which led to many new teachers. The only ones who suffered from this were the students.

Parent involvement is nill. Extra-curricular activities are near nonexistant. Teachers are moody. Staff is degrading. Discipline is lax.

Academic Programs have declined over the past few years. I am looking for a new school because DayStar has very limited music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities.
