Well we moved to AZ from NY in 2008 and after feedback from parents in the area, chose SDOHS. We also live in Stetson Hills, so walking to the middle and high school is a big plus for parents.. just in case needed. Next year my third child (young adult) will graduate. All three were enrolled in AP and honors courses with the help of the outstanding counselors. Without a doubt, we have no regrets. Well, we still miss NY. If you are looking for a high school which prepares your kids for success in college, SDOHS is a great choice. Parent involvement is needed no matter what school. Kids will be kids.

O'Connor high school is an outstanding school. The teachers are caring and concerned while still holding students and parents accountable. The administrative team keeps students the focus of decisions instead of the popular vote or pressure from parents. I have had one child go through O'Connor and whole-heartedly recommend this school to all my friends and acquaintances.

Sandra Day O'Connor is a place where students receive a quality education. Students are challenged to be their best and teachers are willing to help students reach their full potential. The school provides a safe learning environment for all students. My children have attended several Deer Valley Schools and SOHS ranks as being the best.

I would rate Sandra Day O'Connor as an excellent school. I had three sons who have now graduated from Sandra Day and all of them have gone onto college and are doing well. Sandra Day's administration has always been present at the events that were happening at the school. They've been extremely supportive and went beyond what is expected in any other high school. They keep parents informed, hold meetings were the public is welcomed, and the teaching and coaching staff has gone out of there way to be supportive. I've had a great experience at Sandra Day O'Connor High School and feel that it has been a great place for my sons to grow up and excel at.

I would not recommend this school. Parent/teacher communication is very poor, and the administration is afraid to make difficult decisions, even when they know it is the right thing to do, no back bone leadership! Office staff lacks professionalism dealing with public, they always look stressed out and heard from lots of parents, there is too much drama at this school. I gave SDO a shot, very disappointed sending my son & daughter to this learning environment! Withdrew my children and enrolled them at my local charter school.

SDOC is an OK school. The students come from upper middle to upper class homes with all the advantages. The teachers are average and the administration is traditional, not very inventive nor creative. The students achieve in spite of the school not because of the school. At times the administration is afraid to make difficult decisions, even when they know it is the right thing to do. Be bold OCHS, not cliche.

I am a parent and my daughter went to SDOHS and we had to switch her out because her teachers would not cooperate with her and help her with her work. She did not understand the material and the teachers did little to solve that problem. My friends daughter goes to BGHS and she says the school cares about the students and her daughter made straight A's second semester after switching from SDOHS and struggling a lot there so i plan on switching my daughter this upcoming school year.
