I have two kids at WVES. They absolutely love school. They are receiving an amazing education. We love the teachers and are very happy with administration.
This school does not meet the needs of kids with behavioral issues or disabilities
The teachers in this school are excellent, I am very happy. My child is in kinder and and i am very impressed in how much he has learn so far. I would highly recommend this school, teachers and staffing are very hard working. Go WVES!!!!
As far as the teachers, I am impressed with the fact that they have noticed my childs skill level in academics. I do not like the amount of students that are worldly, but since my child has moved to higher academics my child has been excelling even higher.
This school [h]as the hardest and most dedicated teachers and administrators I know. If you look up test scores for this school you will see improvement every year. My kids have been there 4 years so I have spent several days volunteering and every time I can see these teachers really care for these kids. They have several after school events and it's a sure thing that you will see several staff members in attendance. So in my opinion Western Valley Elementary rocks! Keep up the great work Ms.Ulloa & Mr. Routhier and to all WVES teachers a big thank you for all you do.
My children have attended Western Valley for two years now, and I am really impressed with the school. The teachers are excellent and they go above and beyond what is expected. My kindergartner learned some sign language, my first grader became an excellent reader and my third grader learned simple fractions and wrote two different research papers. I have been given many opportunities to be involved with the school and have found the experience quite rewarding. The staff has always worked hard to resolve any concerns I have had. Communication is also very good. The only disappointment I have had was at losing an incredibly gifted music teacher that taught my children to love music and performance. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend Western Valley Elementary to other parents.
I have a preschooler in the school and although i have found the preschool teacher and program to be great. They dont supervise the kids and dont seem to care either way about what happens to them.
No flexibility for accomodations in music dept. Some teachers were awesome. But, by the end of the year noone cared for anything. My children felt like they learned very little all year long. I spent most of my days at the school assuring accomodations and concerns were taken care of apposed to staff accomodating parents and children. No spaecial programs, and counselors very busy. Too busy for childrens concerns! We are there to entreat others and the children as God intended. It was too formal and uniforms were too limited. One color, one uniform. No room for accomodating unstable or low income families.Love middle school. They are awesome!
Dress policy is overdone and ridiculous. Some teachers very defensive and unresponsive to concerns. No leadership to address those issues. Some teachers are awesome and some very poor. Inconsistency abounds.
I have Two children attending Western Valley Elementary and have found that all but one teacher that my children have had were great teachers. I wish there was more of an open door for parents to talk to administration. Every time I have been in to talk to them about concerns I felt as if I was being rushed out. The spirit of the school has really impressed me.
